it would be absolute madness to even think of sacking him now or at the end of the season. he is a good manager and has prooved it not just with us but also in spain. ok he is a bit frustrating tacticly but its pretty common knowledge that he has not had things his own way from day one and before ged and his brigade get on their high horse i do understand why people would call for his head. we can sit here and list all the bad buys or bad performances but are we really going to become the best team in the world by sacking the current managment, staff and probably half the squad and employing another manager who will want to bring his own players and staff. and with what money? he is our boss so we should back him 100% no matter what

You make a good point quagmire, but sometimes it is best to abandon a sinking ship, Benitez is not so buoyant anymore.

so just start from scratch? how long will it take to even get back to where we are now? chelsea should be an example of this. this time last year everyone was raving all sorts of [oops] about scolari and how deco was the player that was going to deliver the champions league for them. the club wouldnt of given rafa and all his backroom team new contracts if they were only going to give them til the end of the saeaon.

But we dont want to get back to where we are now, disillusioned players, fans and a sinking ship.
We want to playing at the top of our game, not hanging on for dear life, knowing the fall is going to happen, and the impact inevitable.

There are more positives than wekness IMO! i can see the same weakness you see, lucas, alonso, zonal marking, nunez, josemi etc
Then elaborate, lets have the debate.... You can list yor negatives, but let me tell you one thing, you are going to try and show me how useless Rafa is, i ma going try and show you how we have improved. So its a useless situation becasue you only see one side, i can see my side and your side of the story. the only way you can see if he has improved us is by how many trophies we have won each season and to my recollection we are trophyless for the last three soon to be four, so tell me again how we have improved.

With the new sponsorship deal hopefully he will be able to show what he can really do.

Yes but what is obvious is that the vast majority of people on this site support Rafa.
They are happy for him to continue as manager and think he is doing and has done a good job.
This is what the numbers say of the survey.
Now people can hold whatever opinions they like on the manager but what I am sick to death of is every thread turns into a rant against Rafa, no matter what the topic the same people write the same things again and again and again.
Impact zero, the survey underlines that.
Can you at least try to be interesting cause its just getting so so so BORING.

Well what i am sick to death about is that the majority of people are backing this incompetent fool. It makes me sick to see how far the standards of the clubs supporters expectation level has sunk that low, that they are prepared to back a manager so incompetent in his job that he has now gone three full seasons without winning a trophy and in the process has put over 200 million pounds worth of players on the pitch in trying to do so. When are these fans going to draw the line with this fool, how long does it have to go on for before they realise this man is not up to the job, 10 seasons or 15 seasons, how much money are they going to allow him to spend 300 million or 400 million before the penny finaly drops.
