I couldnt make my point any clearer, Rafa invested 20 million in a player that is proven (proven to be less than average).

Stats are like league tables, they dont lie, not 5 years worth anyway.

I hope like the next man that he proves me wrong. But if someone gave me a system to play roulette, and showed me losing stats from five years of it's use, I certainly wouldnt invest 60% of my capital in it.... Would you?

to be fair stuey does have a point in this case - the stats don't make for good reading when it comes to aquaman ..... but sometimes stats can be misleading and i really hope they are in this case! either way i think we should give the lad a chance to see what he can do before making a decision

He may have a point when it comes to the stats, but we must give the lad a chance before calling him a flop or whatever...I have belief in this guy and I really think he will offer us something different...But we have to wait and see...

I am all for optimistic outlook, but i think this is a no-hoper to be fair. If he cant stay fit in Italy, he will look like a pile of minced lamb within the first 5 mins in the PL.

Even if he does manage to stay fit, the stats are sick and still dosen't inspire optimism.

I have more hope for Babel coming good.

I quickly run a translation of this on google translator... here is the result:

I am looking forward to seeing this guy on the pitch. I dont think Stuey is saying anything wrong, his injury record speaks for itself, not played alot of football.

But I think everybody hopes he retains his fitness, stays fit, shows he is worthy of value we purchased him for because 18 million is a big risk.

Have to agree with Stuey here!!! shocked
Want the lad to succeed but a lot of money for someone who has been this injury prone!! Was a little sceptical about this deal from the start but will hold my judgement until he gets a fair run of games!!

All players have their injury problems. Gerrard has had his as has Torres and they came out of them OK. If his injury wasn't managed properly at Roma this could account for why he relapsed. I think we all need to wait and see what happens and see how good he is before condeming him to be a flop.

And as for stats, they only mean something on here when they support what people want them to.

Have you seen the breakdown of his purchase price? It wasnt all 20 million in one go, it was spread over few years.

So if after two years we are not happy with him, we sell him at the same that it cost us.

Im not sure of exact figures eg, First year 10 million, 2nd year 3 million.. etc

Anybody with the exact figures??

After two year we sell him to italy for 12,13,million etc.

But you fgot to give the bloke a chance!
