Christian Poulsen has dismissed speculation that he will leave Liverpool and insists he sees his future at the club.

Kenny Dalglish has increased his midfield options with the signing of Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson this summer.

These new recruits will augment a squad already bulging with midfielders in Lucas, Steven Gerrard and Jay Spearing.

Indeed, Dalglish's transfer business has prompted talk that the Denmark international would be sacrificed to balance the books.

But the 30-year-old, who has two years left on his contract, is in no hurry to leave Anfield.

"I have been really happy and I want to play, that's my goal for the future," Poulsen said.

"I am happy there with my family, it's a good club and they treat me really well. I hope I can change my situation and play more.

"I haven't heard anything from Liverpool; I am trying to be fit for the new season. So I think they want me at the club and I am happy to be there and unless they tell me something different, I am a Liverpool player for the coming season."

yea but he;ll say that to force a move too. it ups the efforts of interested clubs. noone actually says what the y mean in interviews during transfer period.

think he will be gone. doesnt seem like a player that will just sit around a place where he nos he aint going to get into the team

Suso I definately would if I was getting paid 50-60k odd thousand a week. Would be happy to not play or do anything for the team. Hopefully he's sold, we talk about Spearing being not good enough but at least he shows promise and flashes of brilliance sometimes. Poulsen has done nothing for the team and everytime he plays, he's causing havoc in a bad way. Time to go mate.

Oh god Poulsen, please just go. We really need to reduce the wage bill on unwanted or worthless players.

being 30, why would you see out your career on 10-15k per week when you can earn 50-60k per week and not cause yourself any ailments going forward. He will stay, and to be honest he would be stupid not to. It isn't his fault he was offered what he was offered. It was [oops] management not a greedy player that caused this. I know I wouldn't give up 20-30k and do more work, would you?

He will be staying unless, Liverpool top up his wage at a new club. That's what that interview was about, people need to read between the lines more closely. Trust me, he knows they want him out, so he says he is staying and fighting on, which is telling the club, I am here and either way your going to be paying what you signed me for. Either by topping up wages or playing in reserves.

why aren't we trying to sell him and insua etc for about 1m each just kick 'em out make them train with the ressies make sure they know they dont have a future at lfc. i think we want a bit too much money for poulsen i think we want about 2.5m for him and we ain't gonna get it.

I remember two years ago everyone was desperate to get rid of Lucas and now we are relying on him. You never know

There hasn't been any bewcause no ckubs are interested in taking him on and if they were they'd been unable to match his wages at Liverpool
