People probably thought we should be aiming higher than Hyypia when he signed but look how that turned out. We need the right players not the right names.

The thing that worries me a bit is this age thing. At 28 a CB has still got many years left in them. As long as we don't pay over the odds for them whats the problem? I've not seen too much of this Olsson chap but 28 is not too old.

My vote goes to Cahill instead of Dann (i know he WANTS to play for Liverpool but who says Cahill does not want to play for us). He is fairly quick, a good header of the ball, good distributor and does get himself on the scoresheet.

With Agger on the treatment table, the aging Carragher, russian roulette Skertel (with his tugging and body checking at set pieces last season) we need a bit pace and presence within the team. there is also a certain calmness and assurance about his defending. No nonsense and hard as nails.

the only thing is that he is going to cost twice more for Dann.

anyone for chris samba? only watched him on match of the day ( i know its not the best way to judge a player) and he looks pretty good. not to sure about his pace but as a player his a beast. IMO his very similar to greek but better and surly cant be as slow. he wouldnt cost alot either

i think there are a couple of players to get off the wage bill before we can afford cahill, but what i will say is, even though i know we shouldn't really take any notice of the media this cahill rumour has come out of the blue, so there might be some truth in it. i dont really get the hype surrounding cahill but i would prefer him to dann and shawcross.
