Seriously BarLennon you can`t see that he is not very good.?? I am all for backing him because he wears our Red shirt but what has he done to deserve a starting place?
Without him we played Kuyt and Saurez up front at the end of last year and played really well and scored plenty of goals, now Kuyt is far from my sort of player and ideally would be no more than a bench warmer himself (giving 100% is the minimum requirement so he doesn`t deserve a place for that!) but it has to be said that he worked well with Luis. Whenever Carroll plays he has failed to impress at all (yes I know he had injuries etc..) also we tend to start banging the ball up to him and by pass the midfield, this means we kiss goodbye to pass and move, Might as well have Roy back.

I agree with what you said about Suarez and Kuyt working really well together, they were excellent at the end of last season, and worked up a great understanding. Personally, i'd play Carroll & Suarez up front, Kuyt & Downing on the wings, and Gerrard plus *insert Lucas/Meireles/Adam/Henderson/other here*

I think you're being quite harsh on Carroll. Andy Carroll is the best header of a ball in the Premiership. He was lethal for Newcastle. He didn't have many chances for us due to injuries and i suppose settling in to the system. But the main problem was that we didn't have the sort of players to supply him. His best asset is his aerial ability, and we didn't have the players to put the balls onto his head. I don't think it's any great coincidence that all 3 outfield players that we've signed have been midfielders with really high distribution/crossing stats over the last couple of seasons. This is another reason why i find it bizarre when some people suggest Carroll is going to be sitting on the bench most of the season. We're hardly buying players with great crossing pedigree to cross balls for Suarez to head?

Its obvious that Suarez and Kuyt worked a way better partnerhip, the fans are not blind but to shoot down Carroll before the seasons starts is just ridicious. Give him a season or til January atleast before you judge, give him a chance with the new system and with the new players around him. Making assumptions based on 2 preseason games which he played 45 minutes of each is just stupid.

Flanno and Robbo ahead of Johnson and Kelly is ridiculous to be fair. It's short-sighted to say the least.

ye ok perhaps you are right about kelly but im not sure about johnson at leftback i think personally robinson deserves a chance
