Was hoping we'd risk the 5m for Jeffren.
He certainly looks like someone who could terrorize the left backs of opponents.
My only concern is he seems more of a dribbler than a crosser.
Wouldn't fit into the setup for Caroll if this were to be the case.

Don't forget that we have Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt who are most dangerous going after loose shots and rebounds. Look at how Luis Suarez capitalised on a rebound in the Uruguay game in Copa America semi and he scored the open goal. One more thing if you say if Jeffren is more of a dribbler , then there is more chance that we can get free kicks around the penalty area and penalties if he takes on the defenders. And now we do have a lot of specialist in deal ball situations in Adam , Suarez and Gerrard. Free kicks from the flanks can be attacked by Carroll for headers too. So all in all , Jeffren does not need to be a good crosser to contribute to the team. Anyway we do have a good crosser of the ball in the form of Stewart Downing...

I don't see why not. Unless every goal attempt is going to be a cross from the wing onto Carroll's enormous, bearded head then we'll need a plan b, c, d etc...

For £5m i think he'd be worth a punt.

For 5 mill bring him in for sure....

1 Year wages of Jovanovic & Cole will cover the transfer fee of 5million and his salary.. We won't feel the like money wasted as well..
