With Aguero nearly signed by Citeh, i think we should put in a cheeky bid for Tevez now that his deal to Corinthians has fallen through. Who knows right?

tough one to call to be honest. think we'd all be over the moon if we managed to sign a left back and a player like juan mata. but we've already spent a huge amount of money so im not sure i can see it happening.

would be crazy if we missed out on mata, a top name player who we could realistically land. especially after forking out so much for jordan henderson where the difference in their transfer fee's may only be around 8 to 10 million. be interesting to see where henderson fits into our squad.

i think we're missing a left back. but apart from that id be happy with our squad for this coming season. in the future i think we'll also need a centre half, another winger and a striker and our squad is pretty much complete.

theres still a shed load of crap players to get rid of though.

this time next year i can't imagine us to retain the services of maxi, cole, the greek and aurelio.

so maybe it would be a good idea to invest now, bring in a quality left back and winger who will both be regulars in the first team and cut back in the next few seasons to concentrate on the stadium plans in the future.

Hmmm. how much close to Argentina is Liverpool than Manchester? Maybe he could be tricked - after all, there is a football club in argentina called liverpool!

There was an article posted in the Aguero thread that gave a few of us a laugh. This is it again:

From Transfer Rumours , and yes I know its terrible but this post is absolutely brilliant.

It was early morning today when I was walking in Madrid, near the Vicente Calderon (a magnificent stadia, I must say) during my 3 day tour there.
A black Cadillac parked about 8 metres from us (me, my brother and mother-in-law.

As the (left side) doors of the vehicle openned, with two men about to get off, suddenly came 4 running young men who being chased by 3 guards.
They sped past us and, as the two men in the Cadillac were about to make their way out of the car, two of these young men tripped and crashed into of the man emerging from the back of the Cadillac.

The man fell very hard and dropped his suitcase which smashed against... I think it was a steel bin.
The suitcase openned and it's contents, a couple of documents, got all over the place (it was quiet windy).

Strangely, one of the documents fell right on my feet.
As you would expect, I picked them up. I couldn't hold them firmly as the wind was blowing them in all directions and I was also carrying my baggage.
But I managed to see a few lines.
I'm not sure but I believe one of the things I saw was "Liverpool Football Club; Atletico; 45m; Sergio Aguero; cash".

Before I could read for more, the man who had fell, the owner of the documents, had quickly raced to me and grabbed them.
He was white, had black, neatly tidied hair and wore glasses.
He said something of this effect to me: " this is supposed to be a surprise, okay? So help me keep it that way. I know what you saw, but just, keep it hush-hush."

"Sir", I replied, pointing to my LFC shirt, cap and keyholder, "is Aguero going to be turning out in these next season?"
He smiled and said, "Stop asking questions. Know that you'll be delighted and thrilled 12 weeks from now, if of course you're what I think you are."

He buttoned his tuxedo and, with a fine French accent, "Walk on, friend."
He walked away, and entered the Calderon.

Make of this what you will, but I know what I saw.

If people think there's a chance of Tevez coming here they're smoking some serious drugs! Personally wouldn't want him anyway, seems a disruptive character and a complete mercenary.

The chances of a marquee signing are much higher though, in the US FSG are regarded as quite ground breaking in massive deals for young players in baseball completely out of the blue so I haven't completely lost hope of some super-star coming in we haven't been linked with at all. So far though it's been a productive summer for us and the squad we have I believe is strong enough to challenge for a top 4 spot.

Sure we'd all like to see another striker, LB and Centre Back come in and I do believe there will be at least one more decent signing before we're done.

Fukk Tevez,he's got more baggage than red4life.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Tevez, Augero, no one can accuse Liverpool fans of lacking imagination, even if they do clearly lack common sense

I believe we'll sign a left back

We have to as we don't currently have one - well not one good enough to start get into the first 11, apart from Johnson who did a good job when asked to play there last season despite being an attack-minded right back

Is there any chance we could still get Mata? Cos he is the only marquee signing linked to us this season - and everyone in the know said we'd be making one this summer - and Adam, Downing and Henderson don't fit the bill, and Whilst Dirk Kuyt can do a good job on the rigfht, I prefer him in his proper role - up front where he forged what looked like a great striking relationship with Suarez, the player who I think our champions league hopes rest on
