Hi All,

I've been following the transfer gossips and am wondering,
is there any penalty or benefits to the player or team involved when a player officially submits a transfer request?

I'm asking as it seems like clubs are more willing to listen to offers when their player throw in a transfer request.

Could it be due to ruling, contractual benefits, team politics or...?

Cheers!

i think its just a way of the player forcing the team to sell, no one wants to keep a player who wants to leave that bad.

i suppose its just the only way they can force a move, we go for job interviews and usually have to give 1 months notice to leave, football players cant really do that so its kind of a way of resigning i suppose.

Dont really like the way transferes seem to work out these daus. think theres far too much going on behind the scenes with tapping up and agents etc

i think in some players contracts they have a royalty bonus and if they hand in a transfer request they 4fit that bonus. am guessing in some cases that bonus could be up to a million or two. so therefore the selling club make more money if the player hands in a transfer request

Yeah i've heard in the past of it being known that a player wanted a move to another club, but his own club were sitting tight and waiting for him to make an official transfer request before entering negotiations, because of a clause in his contract, where doing this would forfeit a pay off.
