i support liverpool all my life but lain has a point. i too have high hopes for liverpool, but lets be honest if everyone of us went round saying we'll win the league just because we support liverpool thats stupid. its like saying blackpool fans last season didnt think theyd get relegated. its calling being in the real world, Utd, Chelsea and to a degree arsenal have overtaken us over the last 5-10 years in revenues, and quality of squads. We are working hard to try and resolve this. however it doesnt happen overnight.

Do we have a better first team never mind squad as Utd? No, Chelsea? No. I am optomistic but at the same time have some realism. We wont win the league this season but I will be happy if we push on up the league thos season and get back into CL next season.

Ask Leeds United, Everton, Preston North End and Huddersfield Town's fans what does a rich History get you in todays game and then come back to me spouting about History. Just one more thing, how can you say Liverpool fans are used to winning things when the vast majority on here have only ever seen them win one major trophy back in 2005, how can anyone be used to something they have never experienced themselves, which most on here have'nt because they were probably not old enough to remember.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

I dont need to ask anybody! i am only concerned with my experience, and my knowledge, that doesn't mean i don't know what frustration is! id guess that's what you feel because maybe you haven't experienced winning much, you can ask me to understand your plight but don't ask me to forget the glory of experiencing our history just because some poor souls have never enjoyed it,i am well aware of the famine here i feel it cos I've seen the glory! so why should i forget it to appease just a few? do like i did believe, have faith and one your positive vibes may just work,i can assure you your negative ones will get you knowhere.

Liverpool new boy Alexander Doni has spoken of his delight at making the move to Anfield from Roma.

Doni sealed his switch to Merseyside earlier this month after six successful seasons in the Italian capital.

The shot-stopper, who has signed a two-year deal with Kenny Dalglish's side, admits joining the Reds was an offer he could not turn down despite being happy in Serie A.

The 31-year-old will provide cover and competition for Pepe Reina and the Brazilian custodian is delighted to join such a famous club.
Honour

"It is an honour to be at a club like Liverpool after leaving Roma," Doni told skysports.com.

"I was happy at Roma, but Liverpool is one of those clubs that when the opportunity to go there comes along you have to take it with both hands.

"I would like to thank everyone at Roma and the fans for what they did for me during my time there and I am excited about my new challenge at Liverpool.

"I would also like to thank my agent Ricardo Sarti for making it happen.

"I am looking forward to playing for the Liverpool fans and it will help I will have my fellow Brazilians Lucas and Fabio Aurelio there to help me settle in and I promise to do my best for the club."

It's just that when people on here bang on about history it makes me laugh, dont they realise it's probably the main reason the Club is in such a state not winning the league for over 20 years because the Club is stuck fast in the past and what they achieved. John Smith and Peter Robinson thought the success would always be there and thats what History does for you, it let the grass grow under our feet and before we knew it United, Arsenal and now Chelsea have gone right past us. The next team to overtake us will be City but having said that they will in the next 5 years overtake everyone with the power of there money. History is a wonderful thing to look back on, talk about and reminice but when it starts to hold you back and stops progression then thats when it becomes bad for you and am afraid our History has done that as the last 20 years has proved.
