Am I missing something with this signing, what I mean is for the amount of games he will probably get surely we could of signed a british keeper as a back up with far less hassle and probably less wages. If you trawl through the Clubs second choices you seriously not telling me we could of signed someone just as good or if not better, what about keepers like Dean Kiely or Wayne Hennessey.

RedNS you are missing something. Reina isn't guaranteed to be fit for the start of the season, we needed experience.

doni has been at a big club for years and represented his national team he knows what it takes to be at a massive club. weve signed 2nd choices in the past infact brad jones was boros number 1 when we got him and he isnt exactly anything special.
I think Dunc made a good point when he said we coulda got dudek for a few seasons on the bench.

( if u feel thats personnel just tell me to shut up) When you have seen what I have, supported the Club like I have and been a continued season ticket holder approaching 30 years you become cynical in your old age. I am just not taken in by greedy superstar players, Football Clubs who are now nothing more than multi billionaire business's, Fans who are now customers and clients and people who let blind sentiment rule there hearts and make them talk with that instead of there heads. I know alot of people disagree with alot of my opinions but they do balance out the blind, rose tinted sentimentality of alot on here, you do need both to make a forum interesting.

I think also we have seen Liverpool when they dominated English football and there is a different frame of mind deep down. In fact one of the papers at once time made a serious proposal Liverpool played with 10 men for the good of football, they were that dominant both in England and Europe. But if you are in your 20’s today then really all you have seen is a good club but not a great one and Utd winning the league every year and Liverpool either playing catch up or almost getting there but never quite doing it. So this is the norm and is acceptable and that’s why we are seen as the pessimists on this site. We are not actually, quite the opposite it’s just hard to accept our status now. For me we will never catch up until we get the infrastructure right off the field which is why I am always rabbiting on about it.
