Looks like the Reds are prepared to give him another chance this season.

If he can come off the bench as a good impact player, I'll be more than happy to have him around. He's an intelligent player and he can't turn totally bad overnight unless he chooses to.

The only gripe as with everyone is that he's on huge wages and he'll need to justify it.

I am happy as we need to have at least 1 certain starter for each role and at least 1 back up. Cole is good for the tight games against teams who put all 11 behind the ball.

I think he just had a bad season last season, sent off on debut and it never really took off for him added the fact how poor we played up until jan.

Hope it works out for him, I know hes on meg money but so are so many others who give half the effort he does.

Good Luck Coley

Joe Cole was pretty rubbish last season, but let's face it, if he can pick up his form a bit, he can play on either wing as back up or as a attacking mid. Could prove to be very useful.

I think he's worth keeping. He is a quality player and as mighty said you don't turn bad overnight. I'd like us to keep Aquilani too.

I agree

Cole was disappointing last season, had been disappointing for England of late and there was obviously a reason Chelsea didn't offer him a new contract BUT still you don't become a bad player overnight and i remember how good he looked in our first game last season - qualifyiung for the Europa league

It was obviously a false dawn (Jokanovic looked pretty decent too!) but of all the flops I'd definitely be inclined to give Joe another season - if only as an impact sub

As for Aquilani I don't even see how he can possibly be considered a flop considering the few gamnes he played he looked pretty decent

He was a massive disappointment last season. I for one had really high hopes for him, and was over the moon when it came out we'd won the race to sign him. I was hoping he'd be offloaded - mainly because of a combination of his failure to do anything significant last season and his high wages.

However, he's done well in the pre-season games so far, and if he's given another season to prove himself, it'll be a huge morale boost for him (i felt sorry for him last season, because his head was constantly down and looked drained of all confidence) and he may see this as a fresh start. I'd love nothing more than to see him given another year and go on to show us LFC fans the real Joe Cole. If Kenny & Steve think he's worth another season, that's more than good enough for me.

i honestly don't think he'll find any sort of form being a bit part player getting a handful of games. i personally think to get the best out of him he needs first team football at this stage in his career and we can't give him that. for the money he earns it might be better to offload him and allow a youngster to come through. he would strengthen our bench but wether he can have any sort of impact in matches after being out injured for so long and not getting much time on the pitch is questionable.
