Yeah, agreed!
But what I meant was just that we better end up there 3:rd or 4:th at least, or we're history (again)!
I really hope and think we can make it, but don't even dare to think what will happen if we fail!
Also KK's career is depending on the results this upcoming season. I can't see him survive a failure after having spent about £ 95 M on players. Yeah I agree. I really believe that we'll be pushing for more than 4th. Look at what KK did just from half a season. Now he's got some fresh coaching staff and some really solid creative players that he picked. Can't see us missing out.

No, it's like a breath of fresh air!
Really hope and think we deserve to make it, but we need some luck too!
No serious injuries on our key players and s'hite like that!

The problem is although it's good to buy young english talent who might be able to produce, the longer we stay out of the Champions league the harder it will be to get back in and also the gap grows ever further between us and the big four. I already think we will never be able to catch United because the gap between the two club over the last 20 years has grown to much, United had there success at the right time when SKY's money came into the game, we had our success in the wrong era, even players like Lawrenson and Hansen publicaly say they missed out by playing just before the game became awash with Murdoch's money.

English players have hugely inflated prices. We can buy who we want this year so get the big money deals done this season. Next season when the fairplay rules come in we can go purely for foreign players at reduced prices. Good business imo

We may have spent £95 million on players but we did get £50 million for Rat Boy. We all know the squad needed strenthening and that is what KK seems to be doing. When is the last time we had so many options in midfield. I think, we, the fans have to keep our nerve and our patience in the coming season. We will get there sooner rather than later.

Bent went for £24m because he’s a striker with a track record of consistently scoring in the Premiership and mostly with clubs in the middle of the table.
Strikers cost more and whilst in terms of talent Darren Bent isn’t worth £24m, his scoring record at this leve; justifies that fee.
In contrast Henderson has had one season – a season which started well but ended horrifically, capped off with a lamentable display at the U21 tournament.
What makes it more surprising is that I don’t see a starting place for Henderson in the current first team and IMO regardless of player inflation, when you pay in the region of £16-20M you want proven talent in am atrea that needs strengthening. The purchase of Henderson doesn’t fit that citeria
It’s hard to make a case for Downing costing £20m BUT he has proved himself to be a pretty decent winger at Villa and plays in a position that we need to strengthen. And also when you consider that he completed the most successful crosses last season, which a big target men like Carrol and even Kuyt would thrive off, you can see why the ckub are willing to cough up £20m
Personally I would have rather tried to get N’Zogbia for half that amount but Downing is probably a safer overall option
I’m surprised we got Adam for £7m, given that we came close to coughing up almost twice that much during the January transfer window

I just feel Hendersen is a longterm replacement for Stevie G. It might not feel like sound business at 16m right now but the club are gambling here that he will pay them off in the future. I was also playing around with formations and find it hard to fit him but hey thats me. Kenny will make sure he contributes towards the team this season.

I guess that that's my point. The prices these days are crazy, and people need to get used to it. Bent cost 24mil because in today's market, that's what a striker who consistently scores is worth. Much like Henderson, he's young and clubs are paying big sums for english potential, I.e Jones, Wickham and in our case Henderson.
