I was there with the 80000+ fans. Amazing to see the whole stadium in red. Anyways no worries about the goals conceded as the greek and Wilson isn't going to play regularly for the team but great entertainment nonetheless. Aquaman MOTM.

PS: Watch the youtube video of the manc dumbass at Liverpool's training session in Kuala Lumpur. Hilarious!!!

Have watched both games pre-season, have to say I have grave concerns about Carroll. It could be he is well down on fitness and struggling through a few early games, but there is nothing I have seen to make me believe we have a devastating striker in the making. Even Ngog has looked sharp and scored 3 times!

Really hope he proves totally awesome, but relying on this guy to get us the goals for 3rd or 4th spot is looking like a massive gamble.

Caroll will look a LOT better when he is getting decent service from the flanks. Getting on his back about yesterday is a little hash as he was feeding off scraps in all honesty

Jammer, not my intention to be harsh or getting on his back. I know he is starting back pre-season and from injury with fits and starts. I am also aware that players don't choose the fees that are paid.

As of yet I just don't see anything about the guy that suggests a Drogba, Hasselbank or similar caliber player. I guess I am trying to analyze what Kenny has seen as a great striker himself, to have put such faith in him at such a fee? Even Shearer before his final injury was deceptively quick, but he doesn't even appear to have that burst of pace either.

It is not about any negativity- we are at the beginning of the process for sure, just a bit flummoxed I guess at the fuss over the guy!

He was second highest goal scorer in the league last year until his injury. His best attribute is his heading ability but we haven't been giving him the service to make the most of it. I'm a big fan of the kid if I'm honest though so I could be biased lol

Andy Carroll may not be in the same category of Didier Drogba or even Alan Shearer but there is a few things that we can look forward to in this guy. Few of us may not notice but I can sense that he is a guy who does not know how to give up. From the 2 pre-season games so far , we can see his detemination to drop back or even moves to the flanks just to get involve with the play. Any other target man will never do that and will only hope for fellow players to provide for them. If he is willing to do that in pre-season when he just started training and just maybe fully recovered from his injury last season , he would be a force to be reckon with if he is fully match fit at the start of the season. Secondly , he is more disciplined now compared to his days at Newcastle. Touch wood so far , he had not been in the newspaper for the wrong reasons. Instead , he was reported to have reported back for pre-season training even earlier than all the Liverpool players. That shows his discipline and determination to be ready for the new season and repaying the trust that King Kenny , Damien Comolli and the whole of Liverpool fans have in him. So let Carroll do his job on the field and be his usual self when he was scoring for fun and sooner rather than later his name will be on everyone's lips.

Carroll is best when he is in the penatly box, yesterday he was left chasing down long balls which is what Torres liked but this is not how to get the best out of Carroll.

Be interesting to see what happens to our centre midfield as we have so many players. Anyone think that Kenny might try pushing henderson and gerrard out to the right hand side in order to fit adam, aqualini, merieles, shelvey etc into the middle?

According to me henderson was bought to be played at right wing. And people say that gerrard's injury is worse than expected. So who knows.
