I was wondering why no one has posted a topic about the latest information on the stadium. With the relevations from the council that if we want to redevelop Anfield the planning of this could take up to 3 years before building can commence. So this would put us approx 6 years behind everyone else in gate receipts so now is it not a good idea to go ahead with Stanley Park option but increase it to 80k so we are on a par with Man U gate (would reduce the waiting list to nowt). Could have it built b4 SG retires so he gets a chance to bless the new hallow turf.

Sorry about that. Just gone back and re read that thread. Stanley seems to be on the ball. Just going on a few comments from that thread why do we have to build the stdium there? We are Liverpool and thus can build anywhere within Liverpool limits surely so maybe it is time to make a complete new start and move to a none resi area that could be built up around the stadium such as a casino, business park with shops, restaurants and hotel (bit like the themed one in Vegas after Playboy but after LFC). If we did this then the capacity could be increased and the ticket price reduced. Atmosphere would be unreal plus I would be able to take all my kids who want to go to see LFC live (taken all four on 7th birthday but not been able to afford it since)

The stanley park site has room to build big! i think its only money that will stop us doing say 70 thousand seater, they did say once that the area around new ground can then become a football zone with all the things you suggested on it so the tourists etc can head there to spend spend spend, it would have been a show piece if everton could have built there own ground alongside too so itl all be about football then, sadly money is short.

I was thinking also of the ease of getting there and then the parking in all the schools and other areas at a cost or the 12 year old enforcers. Went to Bolton ground a few years ago and was impressed with ease of getting to it, parking and facilities on the ground. We could do this and then have an 80k seater plus the space to increase it later on a site that can accomodate this increase. If you had parking for the ground capacity and charged for it this would go into the clubs pockets and not the "businessmen" who suddenly pop up on match day and line their pockets. Even if it was a fiver per car for the match would benefit the club plus put on bus service to town centre etc. for thos who don't want to drive. Went to an American Football game in states and the fans make a day of it and this could be the same at a new site with restauraunts pubs mcd etc. money in the club pocket on match day and then business park to service it on none match days

Dont know if you know the area Liverbird but there is no way you can build big in Stanley Park, dont know if you have read previous threads but the area and infilstructure cant cope with anything that size, it does'nt really cope with 45k. If you want to talk 70 or 80k then you can only build it outside of Liverpool were the increase in numbers can cope.
