Simply put, Glen Johnson is probably going to be our first choice LB, and as Martin Kelly rightfully earned his RB place in the side. whats wrong with using Insua, Robinson and Aurelio as back-ups Any of these players are good enough as a backup surely?

Its the same position for right back with Kelly first choice with Flanno, possibly even Degen staying as backup? and Johnson to come back across if really needed?

IMO i dont think LB is a massive worry really

Then why do we need downing on left wing? Maxi can play on left and jova or cole can cover him. Right?

He isn't comfortable enough on the left, he doesn't play half as well as he does on the right. Insua's probably leaving (Even though I think we should give him a go rather than blowing funds on a new LB) and Robinson's only 17. Aurelio always injured.

Basically, we need one for depth in the squad.

Do you guys rate this Aly Cissokho as i've not really seen alot of him?

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Insua, Aurelio, DEGEN!?! Relics of a collapsed era. I'd keep Aurelio as back up (even though he'll most likely spend most of the time on the treatment table), and we have Robinson. But despite how well he did at the end of last season there, Johnson is not a left back! And he shouldn't be played there either. To answer your question, we absolutely do need a left back, 100%. There's no question in my mind on that.

i think we deffo need a left back to balance the team more. i think johnson will get put back at rb and kelly will maybe be moved in the centre a bit more? perhaps to replace JC when he leaves

Johnson is our first choice RB, no doubt in my mind about that. He is tied to a new deal and did well at LB but he gives us so much more attacking threat at RB, which if Kuyt is first choice RM again we need from the RB. Kelly will be back up to him I imagine with Flannigan not seeing much game time as Kenny 'doesn't want to put too much pressure on the kids too soon if he can help it' paraphrasing). Robinson for me is the future England left back, I think he is better than Flano but again I think he is considered by Kenny et al to be too young to be seriously knocking around a starting berth. Aurelio could be back up in a pinch, can't rely on him to be first choice, insua etc need to go go go. Not good enough.

In short, definitely need a new left back, a good one. I'm not convinced we will be getting ally cissokho though as a number f sides been sniffing around him and I'd wager he would cost a fair whack, same with Enrique, unrealistic valuations. I honestly think Clichy was our main target in that area and we missed out on him so we are franticly searching for someone else.
