Frankly yes we should have done.

Kyrgiakos did look slow,he thought he would have more time on the ball but did well in the air.
Hopefully he will be threat with corners and has only been at LFC for a second

we didn't need him end of ...... we have no money to spend so should have given our youngsters a chance ...... after all skrtel will be back soon

i too think this transfer gonna prove its worth..he is good in air and thats a very positive sign...if anyone saw his performance against Bolton probably shud realize his presence was far more effective than Ayala if played against Bolton

i disagree completely ...... what we need is a player who is comfortable on the ball which is one thing kyrgiakos most definitely is not!

He was an unnecessary buy. I have nothing against the fella but ultimately we have 3 good centre backs, 2 of whom will normally be fit and if our young players are not good enough to play the odd game in an emergency then there is no point having them at all. They may be young but they are professional footballers still.

Our defence hardly covered itself in glory against Bolton. Who is to say that Ayala, presumably on something of a high after a decent debut, wouldn't have done just as well as Kyrgiakos, if not better?

couldn't have put it better myself ricardo! we have all these kids and none of them can even hope of getting in the first team anymore

We need some players with height as we don't have the biggest team.Especially now that Hyppia has gone
For eg: Insua,Monster,Lucas,El zhar and Benayoun are smaller players.
I think he will help with defending and attacking corners but Agger and Skrtel will be ahead of him as they are more comfortable on the ball.

Sotirios Kyrgiakos is 6'4"

Skrtel is also 6'4"
Agger and Ayala are both 6'3"

So height isn't the greatest of points is it?

i was going to point that out too! i am sick of the height excuse - this is just rafa having a problem trusting kids and it is a severe weak spot in his managerial ability

ayala should have been given a chance with kelly as back up in case of yet another injury
