We have to pull out all the stops an sign this kid.
Its all well and true signing good british talent but the game tonight showed a gulf in class between them. Mata has got the class to set the premier league on fire, he's got that creative spark what were looking for.
We have to spend whatever it takes to sign him instead of looking at the likes of downing and others. I just hope the scouts at the game tonight echoed the same thoughts.

So true mate. Have admired Mata for the past two seasons and i really hope we don't sign downing.I back the Henderson deal but £16million odd for downing truly would be a rip-off. Mata

I just hope he see's sense and signs for us and not one of the money clubs like city. Downing will not get us into champions league and chalenging for titles. Talents like mata and so on is were we should be spending our money, if we can persuade them to come that is.
Players like downing will only take us so far.

mata is good but he will look good at the U21's he is a class above any player there spain are very lucky to have him. he and javi martinez made the england's midfielders look like little boys last night

I have liked what I have seen of Mata so far but are we sure he can handle playing in the Premiership? Take Babel and Drenthe for instance they both played well during the U21 Euros 4 years ago and were playing well in the Dutch League but Babel did nothing at Liverpool or Drenthe at Real Madrid.

Aside from a nutmeg or two, he was awfully quiet. He really shouldve stood out more as hes older and definitly more experienced.
