Agreed rafa. Hindsight says Torres was a bad buy at 50 mill(for now anyway) but I'd rather Liverpool spend ridiculous money on someone who shows something special than 'young british talent' that aren't gonna get us anywhere.

Well barring the exception to the rule(suarez), your gonna have to wait for this team to get us into the CL before the poncy glory hunters arrive.

Yeah I agree there Rafarendum, Wingers should be a priority and Also would like to see a stronger defense being lined up for next season. Looks like a clear out of midfielders is coming up, else Henderson signing makes little sense.

i think jordan henderson has been signed to develop here for the next 5/6 years at least. alex ferguson was reportedly sniffing around him and look his track record with young players. don't see why people can't see the bigger picture.

we are building a team to compete for the title in 5/6 years time. it was too many daft short term decisions that nearly bled this club into oblivion. now we have good finances and a long term strategy yet people are f*cking complaining.

look at united. they've signed quality young players at high transfer fees and developed them over a period of time and its payed off for them big time.

look at nani for instance (as much as i hate the kunt). he is one of their most important players. he cost them £23m at a time when nobody really knew to much about him. he took his time to develop but now he's a key figure in their side and has managed to fill ronaldo's boots.

united have forked out huge fee's for players like this for years.

fair enough some of them haven't turned out well. but surely this strategy is the right one to use as united have proved it to be successful.

signing jordan henderson might be a risk. but he's got the potential to be an england regular in future and at such a young age he'd still hold a very good transfer value if things didn't turn out well in the future.

Wrong. I'm very happy that we have the funds to compete with the biggest clubs out there. It's the way we're spending it that worries me.

If we spend 20m to buy Juan Mata, I'll be over the moon. But 20m on Jordon Henderson and I'm supposed to be delighted because Kenny signed him? Sorry I can't comprehend that.

the only way we'll sign juan mata is if we are the only club chasing his signature. at a bargain price i'm pretty sure some of europe's top clubs would be sniffing around him. totally agree we need players like him. but we have to be realistic

And hjad Ferguson been interested, i'm sure that like Ashley Young and Phil Jones, Henderson would have oped to go there

I'm more than willing to goive the lad the benefot of the diubt - he could turn out to be a goid player for LFC - but I just can;t see how we can justify paying such a high price for a player who ought to be good

And i agree with Rafareendum - at £50m Torres was overpriced but not as much as Carol at £36m
