keane was our 20m budget form summer 2008 but he was sold 6 months latet with 17m recouped. the owners said our 20m budget from this summer went on contracts for torres, gerard etc. whats there explanation for last years 20m that wasnt spent? sammy lee?

it's a sad and frustrating situation, but it's no news that the yanks are full of lies...Clearly they now also have Purslow on their side...

But as you say, the 20m we spent on keane was almost recouped and this year we've sold players for more money than we've spent on new ones...And if we ignore the "contracts" BS story that Purslow came up with, we should have had at least 30-35m right now to spend (that is if it was true that Rafa had a 20m transfer kitty both last summer and this one)...
