Not 100% sure its true but a few mates have text me and a colleague I used to work with in the North East says that we have agreed a fee with Sunderland for £16.5M for Henderson and have been given permission to talk to him about wages. Think its overpriced for him but looks like going rate these days for an up and coming English player

£16.5m compared to A Young's reported fee of £16m does seem steep as Young is proven in the premier league over the past 5 years.

Only thing is we have missed out on players to many times because we didn't want to pay the fee.

If we get, Jones, Henderson, McCarthy and Mata i would say that is progress.

Sky Sports understands that Liverpool have agreed terms with Sunderland for England international midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The Reds have been locked in talks with their Premier League counterparts for several days after making their initial approach last week.

The two clubs have been haggling over the valuation of the 20-year-old, who will undergo a medical with the Merseyside giants on Wednesday.

It is understood that the deal that has been agreed is worth £20million and it will include David N'Gog moving in the opposite direction, subject to him agreeing terms on Wearside.

The French striker will hold talks with the North East club, while Henderson brokers his move to Anfield.

Henderson is due to link up with England Under-21 squad ahead of the European Championships which begins this weekend, and both clubs are eager for the move to be completed before then.

ashley young is in the last year of his contract mate, thats why his fee is so low. say he had another 2 or 3 years to go it would be just above the £20m mark imo

remember, villa took a chance on him 4 years ago at £10m.

we may have captured a future england regular in henderson... at £13m plus a player we don't want who signed for £1.5m ain't a bad deal imo

does this mean we are not going to buy forgein talents, because I would prefer Hazard or Muller to Downing
