One of: Cantona, Bergkamp, Henry, Gerrard, Fowler, Zola (he was the only reason I used to watch Serie A, but he joined the wrong English club), Barnes, Shearer, Beckham. I enjoyed Barthez too, even though he was a Manc.

I think this thread is a bit baised because if you think who is the best player to have ever played, you have to link him with the goals he scored and thats always going to be a striker or as you guys mentioned a few midfielders. No goalkeepers or Defenders has been mentioned yet.

But certainly as soon as I spotted the thread, I thought to myself Theirry Henry. He was out of this world for arsenal, shame he moved on, otherwise we would of seen more of him all those years.

yeah if wrenger wasn't so ageist henry could have beaten shearer's all time goal scoring record
