I've never known fans to moan as much in all my life we are finally willing to spend money on some of the top talent in the premier league and possibly europe which we haven't done for far to long which is why we have fallen so far behind the last 20 years because everyone else has taken the chances and we haven't yes 18 mill is a lot but it's not your money they are spending FSG know what they are doing and for the first time in a very long time I trust the judgement and decisions of all the people that matter FSG,Kenny , commoli and believe we will spend big this summer not just for now but the future aswell and then we can make signings when we really need them. Yes we do need Henderson he is a huge talent and anyone that knows about football will realise this if you have watched him his passing range is very good vision is great he's quite quick good feet and energy hes big at 6' 2" he has it all just needs finishing off and Kenny will do that. We have centre mid spearing who yes has done well but he's never going to be good enough , Lucas very much the same very useful squad player but is no world beater meireles is the same nothing special but ok and gerrard who is a bit injury prone and not getting younger so that leaves shelvey who will be a great player but we need others to grow with him and build a relationship which is why Henderson is perfect .

Just all stop moaning and trust who makes the decisions and slate them if they go wrong just get behind all our new signings whatever they cost and help the team grow. This is what has happened to England for years to much slagging of the players before a ball has been kicked and look how nervous they all are.

Yes I see what people mean he isn't worth more than 10 mill but no player is worth that amount of money in reallity and no one is worth £30000 a week but that's just modern day football and if you want to compete that's the prices you have to pay unfortunately

Wicksy, about your earlier post. I agreed with some of what you said but have to take issue with "we need henderson" and "we are spending our big money on europe's top talent", im sorry buddy but if we are going on what's been reported in the paper, bar mata we aren't going for best in the premier league we are going for average compared to what we want to achieve. We are going for 7th place players, henderson, catermole, wickham, all these players aren't going to get us into top 4 anytime soon. Im tired of this building for the future nonsense that people keep spouting about players like wicham the likelihood is he won't make it yet we are shelling out man city style money to grab him apparently. Even worse for henderson. It is an absolute joke.

Or you could look at it as building a team to get us into the champions league which in turn would make us more appealing to the superstar signings people desire.

No,what is a joke is people thinking they know as much about football as Kenny Dalglish, the fact of the matter is that we can only sign players from Britain until 1st of July when the window opens fully,this is the reason why British based players are being targetted at the moment,unless you have had your head buried somewhere since October then you will be familiar with Nesv policy on buying young players,there is also the home grown rule to be considered.

I understand what your saying red yes Henderson isn't one of them deals that makes you think we will win the league now but he is a great talent and has all the attributes to make a top quality player (doesn't mean 100% he will be) but I believe we are looking at the future and replacing the likes of gerrard and gerrard can bring him on over the next 3-4 years to take his place we need to take these players while we can we have lost out on to many inthe past like Carroll for example if we bout 12-18 months ago we could have probaly save 30 mill
