Lets look back at the past 20 years and the issues are simple:

We buy too many average players then complain that we do not challenge for the league.

We should either buy top quality players who can add to the team or let the youth have a chance.

We bought Reina, Alonso, Garcia in one summer and they transformed the team.

Last summer we bought players like Poulson and Konchesky so no wonder we were not challenging. Then Suarez came along and look what he added to the team.

We had different owners when we bought Poulsen and Konchesky to when we bought Carroll and Luis so I'm not quite sure what you point is here?

Well i know it is only rumours but my point is if they are indeed true, we are linked to buying a few average players for alot of money.

Instead of spending the £5m and £10m on 4 average players, i would rather we spent £20m+ on one quality player every transfer window then we might start making progress.

We don't give the youth players enough of a chance and when we do, we play all of them at the same time.

Kenny got it right i,e with the full backs towards the end of the season with just giving a couple of youth players a chance to build their confidence.

Rather players like them play and play ok rather than the club paying £5m for the exact same effect.

as you may have noticed the january window was very different compared to the previous ones.

hicks, gillett, parry and purslow did it their way, we all know how that went.

with henry, werner, damien and kenny it will be totally different like we witnessed in january. don't panic just because some journo says we will bid £20m for an average english midfielder etc.

Aqualini was a huge gamble, the option with that one would have been to leave him at Roma for another season and see how he got on after he recovered from his injuries.

Babel was a star in the making at the time so could understand why we got him, i feel he was mis-managed when he joined, i.e played out of position etc then playing only the last 5 mins and we destroyed his confidence.

That happened with Bergkamp at Inter then he joined Arsenal and the rest is history.

Mate you sound like you no what your talking about so let's be real we are rebuilding a team I don't want us to be like city and go top end of the market and buy all these over payed twats dzecko for example just look at are rivals man.u 6.5 mil on a player who nobody knew and prob got the best return on 6.5 if seen for a long time chiciritto. there is players out there so don't judge them cuz there not worth 20 plus milion r you haven't seen them on YouTube

Everyteam makes bad buys we just have made some realy bad 1s so I do see your point but we can't judge players we don't even no

I agree Euro with Dzeko and city, maybe he will be quality next season but then Chelsea paid £50m for torres and he is proven quality but it hasn't yet worked for him there.

I have just got fed up with the jovanavic, poulson, konchesky signings. I know they were under the previous owners but we still signed average players back in the Rafa spending £200m days.

I just hope from now on the liverpool scouts keep their eyes open and we bring in players that can improve the squad rather than just make up the numbers and pick up their fat pay cheques.
