Well him and Merieles are very similar in style so can see Kenny rotating between the two. They might play a similar position but they're styles are very different.

Hate to say this but we can use the money through his sale. We have many CMs but we lack wingers and LBs. those take priority above anything else.

Your mistaken if you think that, and you can clearly see that in recent games. Our central pairing is Lucas and Spearing, that is very fascinating to watch, more eye catching then watching Xavi do his thing. I mean seriously who is going to play those crucial fa cup games when we know we can't risk gerrard to play many games, who's going to play the other cup competitions, we can't just play gerrard for 50 games. We definately need more CM because our current midfielders aren't great and Aquilani can be a good signing to bring back. I understand its our least priority for now, but its definately a priority if we have the money. Bring back Aqua for next season, he will help us strengthen the bench atleast.

Not really, their preffered roles is just in front of CM with freedom to move between midfield and attack, prone to attempt the long shot and also capable at getting in to the box quick to support the strikers. they are a lot more similar than you would think, at Juve he is playing a different role, but if you look at the games he played for us Aguilani played a similar role in games that merieles does (under Kenny).

Yeah like I said, a similar role/position but they definitely have different styles. Meireles is more about direct driving runs than Aquilani is, Aquilani is little flicks or take time on the ball to pick a pass. You are right they both like to shoot from distance, but if you bought an attacking mid that didn't you'd have the worst scouts in the league. Every attacking mid likes to shoot from distance, even Arsenal's do and they're told you're only allowed to score if you walk it in the net.

His first goal for us show the quality he is capable of producing and also the passing movement so i'm sure he could hack it in the English game. I agree with the member who said we could rotate him with Meireles as well. =)

I do not doubt that Alberto is a skilful player and I have no issues with him either as a player or as a fellow member of the human race.
I just happens to think that Serie A suits him better and if we do receive a reasonable offer for his services then I would take it. Frankly, I would not sign a player wit h a known tendency to injuries.
Having a longer memory than most posters, the name that sticks in my mind is one Jack Witham, who was devastating - when he played, which was not often. More recently we have had Harry Kewell and Phillip Degen.
I think that Charlie Adam would be a better bet, personally. If Blackpool are relegated - which looks likely, though they have acquitted themselves very well - then I think we may well be a suitor for his services.

I hope we keep him so he is given a chance to prove himself, unless he wants to stay in Italy then fine, but if he wants to pull on the red shirt again i'll get behind the lad.

there's alot of speculation about juve wanting to sign pirlo now that he's confirmed that he'll be leaving milan. that would probably mean that aqui will return to liverpool or join another club in italy.
