for the record, this thread wasnt about carroll, it was about the chemistry bt the two, or lack of it for that matter. i was never bashing anyone, and i acknowledged that it was early days.

You could say there wasnt any chemistry between the whole team today.

I think your expecting to much for Andy and Luis to gel straight away when you consider they've hardly played together.

ive played a bit of ball, not much, but a bit. there have been guys i have teamed up with who i just clicked with on the pitch (never off wink ). the chemistry grows but its always there to start with. gerrard and torres had it from the off. i havent seen the slightest bit so far bt C and S. granted its an early concern, but a concern none the less.

Sorry Flames but your picking none exsisting holes here. A partnership will grow between the pair but how can you expect a player like Carroll to shine in a team that doesnt contain any wingers. The main attribute is his physical pressence in the box getting on the end of crosses where as Suarez is like a wasp swarming around the centre halfs and being a nusiance. The pair have been bought as long term players not an instant fix that maybe your looking for.

Caroll looks heavy legged and could do with loosing a few pounds. Wasn't that bad though.
The spurs defence was rock solid. Dawson played really really well. I'm not going to criticise our players. 'Arry did his homework and his team outplayed us.

Will say that Webb is probably one of the worst refs around. Don't get his reputation as one of the best at all.

I think it's too early to judge them as they had only half a handful of games together. Give them a full pre-season and with better players (wingers) coming in then we will see the best of their partnership

I really thought we were poor in parts today to be honest and a shadow of what we were against Fulham, mind though, Spur's played really well today and take nothing away from them!

Fulham were terrible against us, which allowed Suarez to shine and do what he wanted, at will.

It wasn't as easy for him this afternoon, he couldn't turn defenders inside out (Like against Fulham) because of the better opposition and he didn't really change his way that much, to influence the game. However he grew a little bit as the game went on, fair play.

I still think it shows how good Dalglish has been for the players since he come back. Because lets face it, we still have a lot of average players in that side, but because of Dalglish we have been getting 110% out of them up to now.

The players looked invent-less at times and the link between midfield and attack was non-existent, no through balls, nothing, just side ways passing and when we did try to pass the ball forward, it was always cut out or given away.

Carroll and Suarez both looked "lonely" up front, Suarez can't do everything and neither can Carroll for that matter.

Carroll is not like Kuyt, with Suarez up front, Kuyt will work as hard as anyone and when Suarez plays up front with him....we see Suarez feature more and get more freedom.

My one argument of Suarez though is that sometimes he doesn't get his head up and be composed. But the more he plays, the more he will learn and gel with the rest of his team mates.

The one problem I have when Carroll is in the side, is not really down to him at all. The rest of our team resort back to long ball and it has never got us anywhere. It was the same when Crouch used to play for us.

But I'm not having a dig at anyone for this game, we just didn't perform as a team as well as we know we can.

Carroll and Suarez will form a partnership that will strike fear into teams the more they play together. Carroll looked leggy at times, but he has been out and even against Man City he wasn't match fit, regardless of his goals in that game.

Today also underlined to me just how much we need creativity in the summer, as well as when Gerrard is back next season, we need more, we need something else.

I don't think its just one creative player we need, it could be 2 or 3 to tell you the truth. We definitely need an Alonso-type player again (if not the man himself)

We still need a classy-clever link player between attack and defense to go along with Gerrard and a world-class winger.

Don't look at this game as a bad thing (even though we lost, and might not get Europa League now) look at it as something that will improve us in the future, Dalglish knows what we need....and we will get it, along with that title next season!
