so he isn't even first choice for Galatasaray (stupid amount of A's) thanks but no thanks. i'll have coentrao instead

I can see no reason why we shouldn't have Coentrao/Enrique/Baines as first choice with Insua as backup. Loan him out again next Jan if he's not cutting it in training, but I think he could work well in 3-5-2.

He can be a very good LB, played some good games under Rafa while linking up with Riera on the left. I think he would be a good option to have.

NOt a bad shout for Insua to be backup, but instead i would rather see the likes of Robinson given a run as backup. Insua had his chance and unfortunately blew it, which i was gutted about because i rated him. Now give Robinson his time to shine. We buy a top class full back and have robinson as backup.

Maybe it is a little harsh to get rid of Insua after one bad season, every player has a bad season, but i see it as looking backwards again, lets move on and have a fresh feel about the place.

we don't have such a bad back up in jack robinson. i do see your point though. insua was good goign forward but was getting skinned by semi-decent wingers and caught out of position all the time. i can't help but feel that he may not not quite cut it though.

are there not also rumours that we could be going for gael clichy?

I heard those rumours as well, they have been circulating for some time now, and he will only have one year left on his contract. Good player but i think we could get better.

Plus it is only a rumour from the press, nothing said from Liverpool or sources on here. I know sources on here can be unreliable at times

Not as unreliable as the press tho! smile

Me, I'd not take Clichy. If Arsenal are selling him they're doing it for a reason that implies he isn't good enough.

I am glad the subject has at least been raised. At the moment we have Fabio Aurelio, Insua, who is on loan but will return at the end of the season, Jack Robinson, and a young lad called Mavinga who is out of loan in Genk, I think, but is a French international at his age. Don't know much about him.
I think the position does need strengthening but if we sign an established LB we would still need cover. It is possible that Emiliano would improve under KD but he would, I think, be a bit of a risk.
I doubt if we would get Contrao who, if rumours are to believed, is bound for Bayern Munich. I personally would not pay anything like £15M for Jose Enrique. Clichy is reported to be in the penultimate year of his contract and is demanding wages which Arsenal are not prepared to pay as the price for an extension. Leaving aside Taiwo, who can leave on a free, Clichy looks the best of the realistic alternatives and would not break the bank. I believe he is likely to move on, but we will not be the only suitors.

taiwo has joined ac milan m8 along with mexes anyway yeah for me clichy looks like the best option i would prefer gibbs but clichy is an improvement just need to get form from a year or 2years ago and he will be great

I would not go anywhere near clichy, even his own fans dont rate him, we need baines, he's a class leftback.
