I only live a few minutes' walk from Carrow Road these days, and my ' take ' is something like this. In one match Dani was substituted by a Canadian forward called Simeon Jackson, whom I'd never heard of. In the remaining half hour Jackson scored twice. Since then he has been scoring goals for fun. His strike rate has been quite phenomenal. I think by now there are few people in Norwich who don't know who Simeon Jackson is.
Now if you're the manager of Norwich City and you have someone who is in that kind of form, and you're in the running for promotion, you play him. I'm not sure we should read too much into the fact that Norwich have not played him very often. It's simply because the Holt/Jackson duo are working too well. He was brought on after 84 minutes at Portman Road and scored, but by that time Norwich were 4-1 up and Ipswich were all over the shop. That man Jackson hit the bar and the ball rebounded to Dani, who gleefully netted it.
I think most people round here might say the jury was still out.
