That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

It goes both ways tho, Murph. If you're playing catchup (and when are we not playing catch-up?) seeing the opposition win the day before just adds more pressure to the performance. While I don't doubt that the guys were motivated knowing that Spurs lost to Chelsea, but why should they need *extra* motivation when they already knew they had to win every remaining game?

With the exception of last season (when we played the Thursday league), Liverpool have been very good season finishers, which seems to contradict your assertion that we should play on Sunday rather than Saturday.

You can ask any pro footballer and they will all tell you that they would prefer going into a match knowing exactly what they need to do. Some of you are just picking holes in what really is a simple argument.

Your argument only stands up if we're talking about the last weekend of the season. Knowing your closest rival only drew/lost the day before is massively irrelevant if there are still 10, 20 or 30 games of the season left. "Ask any pro footballer" at the top level and they will tell you that they are trying to win every game.

We should aim as high as we can and that means hoping for miracles and a fourth placed finish.

As a fan it is good to know how your rivals have done before you start, but surely it is a bonus as a player to know whether your opponents have won, drew or lost.

But I agree that players are motivated to win every game doesn't matter about the situation

I suppose by quoting myself I could be seen as contridicting myself, but I would take back comment in bold, because I do think that a lot of players are motivated to win, but there are loads of players motivated by money and the fame
