I don't understand how a sport that has stoppage time is so opposed to usage of such technology. To my knowledge a lot of the sports that use it don't actually add stoppage time, so ultimately, time is lost, whereas in football, it actually isn't. Depending on how it's set up, a challenge can be made, footage checked, and things move on, and whatever time is lost is added at the end of the half.
I doubt calls will be challenged all the time, and a limit can be imposed (some sports penalize the side that makes the challenge if it's found to be that the ruling on the field was correct, similar actions could reduce challenge usage to moments when a coach is absolutely sure). I actually doubt it would be used all the time, as sports that have it ironically don't see it used very much; it's just a very reliable piece of technology that can help make up for human error.
Efficiency is not the devil and change not necessarily something to sniff at with suspicion. Going on about how bad calls are just "part of the sport" is more romanticism than practicality. If a minute of time that will be added back to the clock anyway means a severely bad call is not made, I simply cannot fathom the harm.

it's so simple. i'm sure there trying to make it hard. you use cameras from 3 or 4 different angles, which we've all seen on tv. it that proves indecisive then the goal cant stand..
and as for the little Mr Angry comment murph, really? just because i dont agree with you, because your wrong..
don't be a hater. take the banter

As I said earlier, football can learn from rugby and have the clock stop whenever the ball is out of play (ie ball out of bounds, dead ball situations, goals). Time is therefore never lost, time-wasting becomes irrelevant, and there is now plenty of time to get a replay. Give the 4th official a TV, a stopwatch, and a whistle. Sorted.

Hows it b*ll*cks?
Sunderland scored with the help of a beach ball. We play them and score with a dodgy pass back from a Sunderland defender to his a keeper from their own free kick?! Pretty even if you ask me................ I don't think it evens itself all the time at all. The example you use with Lampard is in two totally different competitions..it may even itself out for the individual but not always the team. If we get one disallowed in the Prem and then we get one alowed in the FA cup it's totally different as the stakes are different in each competition.

I think Goal line technology should be used, but i agree that it is only mentioned by a manager when something goes against them.
It has been the biggest debate in football for years, and I can't believe nothing has been done yet.
We could even try the following:
- A ref in each half - Four lines men - Or a lines man on the by-line

I really get annoyed with these managers who suddenly call for goal line technology the moment their team loses after a referee gets it wrong. If goal line technology was such an important thing in their lives they would be calling for it every week. Steve Bruce was all on about it when we got a penalty we should not have, but not a word from him since. Clearly it wasn't that important. Now 'Arry, who has more cause for complaint because losing yesterday could see his side finish 6th and therefore out of Europe (even though they still have their own fate in their hands), suddenly calls for change. If United lose the title I'll bet Fergie will have something to say about this game as well, but his words will carry the taste of bitterness rather than progress, and if 'Arry says nothing again about goal line technology between now and the start of next season, his remarks will have as much weight with the FA as Kenny's post-match comments to Wenger.
If people want goal line technology they need to form some sort of committee or forum and actually put some sort of proposal or demand to FIFA or the FA. Until that happens the FA are not obliged to do anything.
So. Are you for or against goal line tech? I think it would be extremely easy to implement but would open the door to other calls for technologies. Once "goal line" technology is in use, bitter managers would be demanding some kind of video replay technology to determine penalty decisions....and then free kick decisions....corners.....offsides.....throw ins....until such a time when the referee is replaced by someone replaying video footage. I think the game should be refereed solely by the referee and his linesmen as it always has been.

Or 97-98 minutes if you are drawing or leading at Old Trafford (FERGIE TIME)

i like not having goal line tech. theres always going to be mistakes is football and as soon as you bring tech for one type of mistake people will want tech for everything every red, every penalty making the game a bit boring, i love talking about football and ref decisions are one of the main things to talk about. i say leave football in the dark ages much more entertaining

But we have to do something about this and goal line technology seems to be the only idea that will certainly take away this uncertainty. What should be allowed is giving Players who dive Yellow cards after the games are played. Too many players are diving and it is getting players sent off, or leading to penalties. Too many diving cheats

i dont mind diving because usually if the player doesn't dive on some level, they may not get the free kick or even get injured because they stood up to in the in coming tackle. the thing i don't like is when they stay down pretending to be injured (alves last week) to get a player sent off thats the worst thing in football atm
