I sense shenanigans during this game; why isn't the FA Cup final played after the end of the EPL season? Still, if we can take 10-12 points from our remaining games, including beating Spurs, we could finish 5th and all these calculations become irrelevant.

The fa cup is actually always scheduled after the season ends but the reason its being played earlier is because of champions league relegations to do with wembley stadium. I think they require 2 weeks without matches there or something like that.

We re not from 4th either, yeah i knw the others still games in hand, but if we win all our games its pressure on them, plus they have more difficult games then us, just a thought.

Oh, right - forgot that Wembley hosted the CL final! Funny how easy it is to forget things like that when you aren't in the competition...

i personally really hope we finish in fifth so we can play europa league next season because i tink it is for the good of the club as it will create more revenues and will make us more appealing to sponsors to have us playing in europe.also i see the competetion the ideal oppurtunity to give the likes flano,robinson,shelvey,coady,sterling,suso,pacheco,silva,wisdom and the likes a run and to keep bench players fresh and giv them a oppurtunity to impress.it wouldn't bother me if we got knocked out at the group stage if the academy players were given a chance.

I agree with Briano16. I dont want to see our main pplayers getting knackered and knocked up with the Europa League. but sadly all the big clubs do seem to play hard for the league cup still so why will EL be different? I say save our best players for the EPL only.

After the start to the season we had then king kenny took over it would be a good position to finish considering that terrible start and europa league as said above should be used for our younger players to be giving a chance the likes of shelvey,spearing,kelly,flanagan,wilson i think it would be good for the younger lads. Really our main aim next season is that champions league spot to be secured and would love a good old cup run which has been missed in last few seasons domestically

Well 5th is in our hands now - we win all ur games and maintian a better goal difference than spurs then we finish 5th simple! Who would have thought this back in Jan 2011?

Need to get 5th!!! Next season we can use it to let some of the younger players play. If we advance to the latter stages then we play our bigger players. In fairness to Spearing he's an example of someone who only played in Europa last season and this season and you can see how it's helped him. Can't understand the thinking of not wanting to be in it. The focus has to be on the premiership but that's not to say we can't use the Europa to blood new and younger players. Maybe Pacheco can come back and get a game?!
