apart from yesterday maxi is awful, he disappears from games, its like we are playing with ten men. i got a suspicion his on big money wages ( me thinks sames as konchesky and paulson put together )

I think Maxi plays well when the rest of the team play well. Depending on his wages I'd definitely keep him as a squad player. I think there are much worse players in the squad.

As for cole, I don't think he celebrated because there was a deflection and a goal keeping error.

Cole as we can all see is in bad shape but I feel if somehow they can re-negotiate his contract and lower it down I think he can come very good for us. When on form which I hope he is next season if we keep him, he can be a handful for defenders. Im willing to give him a chance as I have said time and time again but if he staying on 100k a week while being on the treatment table, then no way we should keep him.

The Joe Cole vs Maxi argument is easy - sell Cole and keep Maxi as a squad player. Cole doesn't bring anything that we don't already have in abundance (ie central midfielders who thrive in a free role), he's on massive wages yet delivers less than anyone in any position he can play. Maxi on the other hand was bought as cover on the left, and he's done well enough as long as we don't have to rely on him for long stretches of games - if he can play in a game where his gift at losing his marker is exploited he comes good, as he did on the weekend.

Squad mainstays: Gerrard, Suarez, Meireles, Kuyt, Lucas, Reina, Kelly, Johnson, Carra, Carroll. Backups: Spearing, Skrtel, Maxi. Frankly anyone over 21 in the squad whose name is not there should be on the transfer list, and anyone coming in will need to fit with that core or fail the way Torres has at Chelsea.
