Didnt want to start a thread for this so put it here as it was spoken about acouple of weeks back!MICHAEL OWEN is closing in on the first league title winners’ medal of his career – from a season in which he has played less than three hours of football.
Owen needs just two more appearances – that’s two run-on roles similar to Tuesday’s nine-minute cameo at Newcastle – to satisfy the Premier League rules which stipulate a player must make 10 appearances to qualify for a medal.
Don’t mix up ‘qualify’ with ‘earn’, though.
Owen has started one game this season – and he went off at half-time.
