Next game is one that we actually are not favourites for if you look at recent history. so teams, predictions, hopes for the game
reina
flanno carra skrtel robbo
kuyt shelvey lucas raul
suarez carroll
ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK! we should be trying to send out a message with our next couple of games starting with this one. i've gone for shelvey ahead of spearing because we need a bit more than hard work from our CM's against the lesser teams, also really want sterling to get a real run out bring him on at half time no matter the score give him some real game time.We have to play nice football as well pass and move needs to come back in a big way at home against these sorter teams hoping 4-0 but thinking more like 2-0

Same team for me, I want to see more of Shelvey as we didnt see that before he got injured. Some fans are writing him off but lets see what he can do in his prefered central position role ( Every midfielder we have seems to want this role). How I'd love to see a rout, we haven't seen one in ages. Come on you reds, give us a 5 nil score line.
Back to Back World Champions baby!

Spearing has had 2 or 3 great games on the trot, dropping him to the bench will only screw with his confidence yet again. And frankly, shelvy doesn't deserve a place in the starting 11 ahead of spearing at the moment. Would be surprised to see sterling if I'm honest, I'm not convinced he will feature for the first team this season, maybe the last game but we'll see.

Don't tend to watch people warm up, I look at their football. I am not saying Spearing can't be dropped if someone has looked better. But shelvy didn't look good before his injury, when he came back after his injury against arsenal was terribly wasteful in possession when we were attacking and was hopeless when having to defend. Spearing deserves to play ahead of him cause hes being snapping into tackles well, great positional play, always tracking back, and helps out in attacks. He deserves to play ahead of shelvy because he has been better than shelvy. If at half time it looks like spearing is not giving the team what's needed then switch it up with shelvy. But I think dropping people when they are playing well in favour of someone who has shown nothing before and after his injury (all be it a cameo for the latter) is a terrible way to manage young players and ruins confidence.

id prefer to say that spearing has been better than shelvey or visa versa when shelvey has actually played a few games in his favoured position like spearing has (also spearing is 3 years older than shelvey). they are very different players and against blues we should be more attacking from midfield thats why shelvey should start this game. making a tactical change for this game will ruin spearing's confidence? get a grip. and how is shelvey meant to impress anyone without starting? how are you even slightly judging him on a few appearances, witch correct if im wrong have been at RM not his natural CM. all im saying is that shelvey would be a better fit for this game and the way we should be playing i have nothing against spearing who has put in some very good performances of late and impressed and surprised everyone

Kenny is unlikely to change a side that has gained momentum and maybe some belief. Shelvey will probably be a late sub only.
I'm not sure why you think we're not favourites for this one, iHouse. I'd agree were we away, but this is at Anfield where we're the 4th best side in the league, unbeaten at home under Kenny, while the blues are 14th on away form with only 2 points from their last 3 on the road. I'm not saying we'll dominate, because we're still very inexperienced at the back, but if we show the same steel as in our last two games we should be confident of 3 points.

Meireles should be in the centre, and we should have Maxi or Joe Cole down the left. Kenny needs to stop playing Meireles down the wing. He's wasted there. Drop Spearing and forget about Shelvey, he's not ready yet. yeah i thought about that before my original post, but i hate maxi and cole waste of a shirt. atleast shelvey will progress from starting unlike them f**kers also on the raul i think as long as we're attacking it doesnt really matter where he plays if you give him a free role, so he and suarez can link up, as they could tear blues fulham and n'castle apart over the next few games

i think we should play spearing, he's earned his place in the side. i wouldn't expect shelvey to be match fit yet but you could expect him to feature as a sub. all this talk about needing more from CM doesn't make sense to me. was more than good enough against man city and at home we are a very hard team to beat.
if raul meireles features out wide (or free role) in a 4-4-2 again we'll need spearing and lucas on top of their game again helping out and covering for the young full backs. thats the system we have become familiar with since the sunderland game and its worked so why change it? the 2 CM's sit and hold while the other 4 bomb on. i think suarez will have a point to prove after the arsenal match. wasn't his best game.
birmingham are a good side and it won't be an easy game but i fancy us at home. i'm gonna go with a 2-1 win. kuyt and suarez to score

............reina
flano....carra...skrtel...robbo ...........Lucas .... ........raul.....cole ...kuyt..............saurez ...........carroll 4141 system, wen defending, counter attack, 433.
cole needs to play centre mid, to get the best out of him. cole, raul, lucas will pass teams to death. kuyt, saurez, raul, cole will support carroll, with lucas holding.
