Well its 19 for sure to Utd, they have deserved it this year because the other teams have been so poor. Yet another season where 5-6 more wins against some of the shoddy teams we lost points against and we'd be right up there.

I think Utd have been fortunate this season, I really dont think they are as strong as they once where. They always seem to scrap results and win the games they should lose. The sign of Champions yes, but this Utd side is on a downward spiral. I know it seems crazy saying it when this time last week they could be on for the treble. But I honestly think they havnt been challenged enough this season.

There players are ageing, they need a new goalie, defenders are getting no younger, there best midfielders bar Nani are at the tale end of their career. Rooney will want to leave for sunnier climates one day and the crippling debt will catch up as soon as they have a bad season. Plus Fergies not got long left. I think Fergie will just quit one day out of the blue, not like last time with all the deadlines etc.

I honestly think had Dalglish been re-appointed 10-15 years ago then Utd would still be behind us trophy wise. At the end of the day as much as I hate Utd I am the first to admit that mid 90s - early 00's they had a great team. For me the last few seasons they have got away with murder.

The point of this thread is that Utd are losing it, and its up to one of 3-4 clubs to step up next season. Whether it be us, city arsenal or chelski. I think the future is looking bright for us.

We have some good kids coming through, a genuine threat up front, solid keeper and 4-5 more signings and we might shock a few people.

Come on Reds. Let the mancs come to anfield next season, let them remind us that they have the 19, but thes things come in cycles. The next few dacades will be about another club. Hopefully that club is Liverpool.

Fergie got Cantona, it saved his career and he never looked back. Liverpool got Gerrard and didn't do enough. And that's the difference really between the clubs since 1990. There is no doubt that with a stronger attitude towards winning the title from our owners and less mucking about with poor managers we would have 20 titles now with United still behind.

You are right though - United have been less poor than the rest of the league this season, so they deserve to win it. They remain the team with the strongest mentality in the league, and that's what champion teams do best. Arsenal are not merely one season away from that, and nor are Liverpool if I'm honest. Next season will be scum vs chelsea again (unless we buy lots of players who are all instantly successful - highly improbable), and unless Chelsea sort out both who is running the show, who their main striker is, and how to play to the strengths of that player, the scum will win it again for exactly the same reason as this season. They are not divided, they hate losing to anyone, and they have the players who can dig deep and get a result. They might be losing it, but they haven't lost it yet - probably won't until Fergie retires.

I believe United will have 20 titles before we can challenge them, and you know what? Maybe that suits us. While I hate for us to lose the bragging rights for most league titles and most trophies won, maybe getting that monkey off our back will help us push on to new levels, to take back our perch. Don't know what you've got until it's gone - we simply haven't had the hunger from the top down, and maybe that's because we think we're so good, when in fact we are not.

i think if KD is given serious funds this summer to sign the top quality players that are needed to go straight into the starting 11 ie a left back, right/left winger, center mid play maker,
and 4/5 players to be added to the squad,

then i truly believe, LFC can/will win the EPL title next season.

i think if KD was given the job in the summer, LFC wud be top of the EPL now, with about 6/8 points ahead of United.

i agree and most of the fans will agree , that under kd if good investment is dne and at the same time deadwood is shifted out (aqauman not included) we are serious challengers for the next seaason....

looking at the form table we are only next to chelsea and united are 5th....i see a good season ahead of us, the main reason is that for the first time in many years we are been linked with actually good players rather then cr*p players and under kd looking at his record in transfers has been absolute awesum!

looking forward to summer window...

by the way when is the window opening????

This will be the weakest Manure team to win the EPL in my opinion. And thats what makes it a bit harder to take. We will get there again though.

This can be good for us as a club because although its hard to take, it will make us work harder again to take more titles and if we can invest positively this summer, then there is no reason why we can't compete at the top again.

lets not forget that Manu have to bring in alot of players this summer as well. VDS retiring, Scholes and Rio suffering, Giggs getting older and Berbatov not impressing at the back end of the season.
We have momentum and alot of new youth settling in the side, whilst still 3-4 goodm players short of really challenging we may well be closer next season than we think. Alot has to go right admittedly but it has happened before.

agreed. I get the feeling the city buy players because they are meant to be 'sought after all over Europe' but they turn out to not gel. They need a top notch manager like Guus Hiddink and get them playing decent footy. They should have a massive clear out and buy some younger hungry kids in who want to win. Get rid of Viera, Richards, SWP, Baloteli (disruptive).

AS much as it pains me to say this, but i do hope we are not distracted by the Mickey Mouse Europa Cup.

Let's just focus on 3 points every weekend. I can almost smell another Champions League season thereafter.
