all good sides have central midfielders that compliment each others game.

the prem is fast paced end to end football and you have to be effective on the counter. we need a good passer of the ball who can distribute quickly and turn defence into attack. for me adam fits the bill and quality from set plays. like a younger gary mac.

think masch/alonso or khedira/schweingsteiger etc

adam won't control the game in anyway he is just useful for 60 yard passes he wont dictate a game for 90 minutes adam is average, look past his odd amazing pass and tell me what else he brings to a team. and where is gerrard next season? because you have more chance of flying to the moon than gerrard getting consistently dropped for adam, thankfully

but he has ran games against much better sides than blackpool this season. he might not be the quickest player but he doesn't have to be. what more do you want from a midfield playmaker?

Are you serious?! That's an insult to a player that's given so much. Gerrard might not be what you want in a center mid but don't insult him by calling him terrible! Give the lad the respect he deserves.There's not a team in England that wouldn't want to have the so called "terrible cm" in their midfield. So potentially we will have Lucas, Raul, Gerrard and Adam next season? Who plays?

ok he may be a poor mans xabi alonso but charlie adam is a quality player imo mate. our club has heavily declined since alonso's exit so its evident we need to invest in this sort of player. there are other decent players out there like nuri sahin and ever banega but adam is already a premiership player and far more suited. 9 goals and 7 assits ain't a bad record

its not a bad record at all he even scored straight from a corner :O, but at the same time you have to remember he takes every set piece for blackpool he wouldn't if he came to us so those numbers would probably half at us next season, but im talking more about open play and apart from the odd spectacular 60/70 yard pass i don't see what he brings, and if we do sign him this time next year we'll still be talking about CM being a weakness

I think we have sorely missed that 50-60 yard pinpoint passing to unlock defences ala Alonso stylee.
