he is not a good defensive midfield player at all, but then thats not what he is in a team for. strange that u mention becks or scholes cause adam is more like scholes but with becks free kicks added in. he runs games, carra even said he ran both games against us. his passing is unreal. so scholes with becks free kicks and thats average to u? to say adam is scholes with backhams set-pieces is just stupid, adam is average and always will be. also it looks like we're going to play 442 next season adam couldnt ever play in the that formation he isnt fit enough or smart enough, he is just a passer nothing more, i know you think he'll be the new xabi but xabi could read the game and control our midfielders and run the game all at the same time adam would just be a quarter back, adam is like adel taarabt he looks special because hes surround by average and sh!t players.

Interesting to hear that Athletico Madrid are showing interest in Reina.....swap deal anyone? looks like he's off to man utd, i don't like the idea of having our no.1 goalkeeper being so young he has more to learn than he knows right now. de gea looks very good but id let learn his trade else where

Why would we sell to Manure? I think he'll go back to Spain and his old man played at Athletico so would be a good option for him. Would be sad to see him go though but if he wants to go then we should let him. Just get as much as possible for him (especially from the Mancs).
I'd then go knocking on City's door and get Given. I know he's getting old but would be a great replacement.

In no way would Adam turn us into title contenders, we are so far behind top 4 and it is evident every game, so to suggest a good player like adam could change that is ridiculous. Having said that, he would improve our 1st 11 cause like I said he is good. But he isn't that special. If he is 12 mill + then we shouldn't go for him, more important positions to strengthen first.

NO!, adam isnt a step up in class to the players we already have he's just different and closer to what we need and at 10 million maybe more he can fck off if we were going to be playing 433 next season then i wouldnt mind him so much but with 442 he'll he awful

Seriously though, Gerrard is a terrible CM, but it's blatantly obvious how much we miss his passing. With Adam in the mix we gain a lot more flexibility in the middle of the park, particularly if we buy no wingers and play a diamond midfield. It's important to remember that Gerrard is likely to break down more and more often now, and we need cover for him too. Adam-Lucas-Meireles should be solid enough, and honestly I'm not sure we're actually likely to pick up the Sissoko's and M'Vila's of the world this season; not because of the money, but because they will have "better" clubs that want them. Getting Adam may well be settling for second best, but he's proven in the prem and counts as 1 for the home grown rule (remember that we want to sell Jones and Konchesky, and Johnson might want out).
