Wolfsburg ace Diego thrilled with Liverpool transfer rumours

Wolfsburg midfielder Diego is thrilled by the interest of Liverpool.

Liverpool have been linked with the Brazilian, who only moved to struggling Wolfsburg in August from Juventus.

Diego has been watched by Reds football chief Damien Comolli and is aware of the rumours linking him with a move to Anfield.

"I am honored that such a club has set their eyes on me," said Diego.

"They are one of the most prestigious teams in the world. Playing for them would be an honour."

I quite Like Menez, he's very cleaver and he's done alright at Roma. The only position I see for him is out wide or on the bench, we need wingers not midfielders who can do a job out wide.

As for Diego I reckon if he can capture his form of a couple of seasons ago he'll be a top player but where do we play him, he wont play off carroll coz suarez is there and I think thats his favoured position. He could be another Joe Cole

Scott Dann from Birmingham according to Sky Sports.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has identified Birmingham defender Scott Dann as one of his top summer transfer targets.

Dalglish is keen to reshape the Reds squad for next season and he sees Dann as a key addition to his long-term plans.

Dann has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League during his time at Birmingham.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, are believed to be monitoring his situation at St Andrews but Dalglish is keen to win the race for the Liverpool-born stopper.

However, any move could prove difficult with newly installed director of football Damien Comolli being involved in all transfer dealings at Anfield.

It is believed Comolli is looking to pursue other targets ahead of Dann even though Dalglish sees the former Coventry man as the type of young, hungry and Premier League proven player he wants to bring into his side for next season.
