Hello guys I was reading an article today regarding Pepe Reina & how he was expressing his doubt for his long term future at Liverpool F.C. This news didnt shock me one bit In fact its what I expected Like his former amigo Torres they have been around and brought in by Mr. Bentiez and If it was up to me anybody associated with the Benitez era should be sold. Its time for Kenny Dalglish to get a 2 year contract and see who this guy wants to bring in what do you think guys???

as ive said before it would be better to keep reina but when he goes its about how much money we want to spend, either way its down to kenny to buy then get the players to have that win mentality i dont think kenny has that attitude of hes not my player so get rid! thats a cut your nose off to spite your face attitude, kennys not that shallow. wink

agreed £20m + if he wants to go so be it.

if no young keeper is around then reckon can pick up given for between 5 & 10m, and he would be good for while we find a young keeper for the future.

i like pepe i really do, and was pleased he was captain for a few games, but im getting sick of listening to him touting himself in the media to other clubs, just to keep his options open.

For me your a liverpool or not, if not then as with Fernando, you can go on our terms. (its painfull to watch nando at the moment hes suffering from been able to be poor consistently yet still play every game he wanted to whilst at pool).

I rate Reina as one of thebest in the world, probably in the top 3, but if the guy wants to go then we should let him go, but all this £20million quoted prices are wrong, he should be looking for £25+ million. And am sure we can get another keeper to fill the boots of Reina, remember no one had heard of Reina before he came to us.

We want players here who want to be here and want to ear the Liverpool shirt.

But if he stays then excellent, we still have world class between the posts, who we know and trust to help us win games.

We will get at least 22m for him because thats what his contract is worth, Im not worried about him goin, we all thought Pepe was different but it looks like hes not, I dont care, we move on. Plenty more talent out there. *cough* De Gea *cough*

He may win the premier league at another club but it will never be the same as wining it for Liverpool.

if reina goes that will be a bigger loss than torres ever was....i sure of one thing though, he will leave in a better way than what torres did....unless he goes to the mancs. then there will be nothing he could say to make it ok....

I hope he doesn't go, but the only way we can really convince him to stay is to earn him another Golden Glove, because doing that could also very likely keep us in Europe next season. We're only two clean sheets off the top, and one of the top sides there used two keepers this season. As a keeper you need to know you can trust your defense, and if he looks at Arsenal or United's defense he's got to be thinking they're no better than us.

The situation between him and Torres is similar but not the same I don't think. Torres needed things to win, and for a striker who relies on pace that is already slipping he had to leave when he did. I think Pepe needs to feel like he's part of something that's going in the right direction, because he almost certainly knows that the career of a good keeper can easily extend into his late 30s, especially if he's at a top club. Just as Torres is finding it hard to adapt to a new club and a team full of individual rather than team spirit, Reina should be able to judge on how we perform on the whole over the remainder of this season, and put that into perspective with where this club has been since last January. I don't know how he feels about Kenny being in charge because he's said nothing of any substance in this regard, but the actions of the owners and Reina's team mates will hold more sway over whether he stays than another club simply fronting up his buy-out clause. I'd like to think we have a better than even chance of keeping him because I don't think he's a glory hunter (where Torres repeatedly revealed this side of his character for 18-24 months prior to his departure), but maybe Reina's completely lost his faith in the club; and once you start down that road you're better off walking. Kenny won't lose sleep over it or go out of his way to convince Reina to stay because he would always rather have a player who wanted to play for the club of his own accord; self-motivation is a far stronger tonic than words of encouragement from a man who might not be in the job in June.

I don't think a new era involves renewing everything and everyone around you. I think Reina is as important as Stevie in the squad and that says a lot about the lad. I think Mr Henry should do everything in his power to keep him until his contract runs out. It would be very good if he stayed considering we will make several good signings in the summer ( I hope). so keeping him would be very important.

I just hope we are given at least 60 million to spend on players in the summer but i wanna see what type of talent dalglish brings in. Seriously if Dalglish gets the job it would be brilliant get rid of a majority of players who were brought in by the rafa camp
