Sentimental aldoraine as I said. Judge him on the results now and he has in all competitions

21 points from 13 games is decent. You'd expect if that continued over a season to finish about 5th/6th.
This is pretty decent, but since we are on paper the 5th/6th best side in the premiership, then this is what you'd expect us to be doing. So it's not incredible. So lets wait until the end of the season, and we'll judge his record. If you bring anything from the past into the discussion then you're being sentimental, and that's silly.
So far so good, but still could be better. And his transfer dealing on Carroll is still up for judgement. couldn't agree more.

house thats rich coming from someone who says we should rotate the side for europe and concentrate on coming 6th for next season. haha
the manager can only do the best with what he has got. we've had injuries and miss a star player in suarez. the players that have had to come into the side for the europa have been poor cole, n'gog, spearing, poulsen.
you can't polish shiite no matter how good a manager you are

Why have we been shiite in Europe? No Torres to fall back on. I'm sure that comes as a shock to everyone. But yeah, our leading goal scorer for the season doesn't play a single EL game, and we're instead forced to field N'Gog, implies we have a bad manager? Come on now, House, read what you're writing.
You're missing the fact that Suarez has been so good for us up front that our other frailties in the EPL have been largely overlooked - that loss against West Ham should have been a reminder that we are desperately short of depth. We still struggle to win on the road, and our EPL away games often follow an EL game, and we are forced to commit our strongest team every time. Kenny traveled to Braga knowing that Arsenal, who are a significantly better side than we are, lost there in the group stage, and while I'm sure he would not have entertained ideas of needing to be overly defensive in order to avoid defeat, he knows that 1-0 is not too large a margin to overcome at Anfield. How many times did Rafa do it against far stronger opposition, for example? That's no excuse for our first half display, but it's clear that without striking options and SG's "god moments" we seriously lack penetration. Hopefully we will overcome this in the second leg, but I'm rather more concerned about the game against Sunderland that follows. Even though they are on a bad run they are our among rivals for 6th, and we can't afford to drop 3 points with Bolton only 2 adrift. Yes, Suarez will be back, but don't forget that he played the full 90 against West Ham as well. Carroll now needs to step up and be the one to finish the chances we create, because right now that's where we're struggling on the pitch.
Kenny doesn't have a great deal of influence over actually getting the ball into the goal (though he picks the team and the tactics and motivates the squad) but he bought this player, and now that he's essentially fit he needs to begin to deliver or Kenny's chances of signing up full time will be in jeopardy.

you can't polish shiite no matter how good a manager you are i still think we should concentrate on the league and yes without suarez and gerrard we will find it hard to beat a championship tbf but its about the attitude kenny sends out teams to defend against braga we should have gone with a midfield that could help kuyt up front because he needs support i would have liked a midfield like this lucas poulsen raul cole ince that way we could of made them defend a bit but we just play for 0-0 away in europe witch is silly and very annoying against these average teams

dont know why you continually expect these youngster to produce something magic. i'm pretty sure kenny knows a lot more about braga than you do. we lost the game to a poor tackle which resulted in a penalty. a tight margin. kenny will have seen many tapes and watched them beat arsenal. its an intnese atmosphere over there and you need some experienced heads to keep a grip on the game. braga usually play 4-3-3 at home so the formation he used was probably the right one. plus the fact there are injuries and players returning from fitness in the side. you have to play to your strengths with the players that are available to you. we did it in the second half when carroll come on but the rest of the squad had bad games. raul, kuyt, poulsen, spearing, cole, johnson, kyriagkos didn't play well at all. you can't predict they would have a bad game. anyway we can beat braga at home and we should do it quite comfortably although they are a good side.

i only had one youngster who would have given us a bit width and pace up front and as i said its about attitude we should have gone there and made them defend and as for the atmosphere there was none until they scored (witch was only a matter of time because we never attacked) and the 'they beat arsenal' argument im pretty sure arsenal made 4/5 changes and had already won there first 3 group matches (i could be wrong though) so thats a completely different game to ours we should have watched them losing as im sure they have done plenty of that as they are 6th in an average league, i think we completely overestermate these teams and show them far too much respect, braga are a good team on there best day

We need to be looking ahead. The Europa cup is hard to get excited about until the next round. They were bad the other night though. At the end of the day its a cup and we all like to win them. I'd like us to take it a bit more serious and try to win it. If there was a possibility of getting into 4Th id say no, but that looks a little far away now

So far so good, but still could be better. And his transfer dealing on Carroll is still up for judgement. Strictly speaking he's only managed 9 games in the Premier League, of which he's taken 17/20 points: 5W 2D 2L - of which he can't be blamed for the first as he hardly had a chance to train with the team for the Blackpool game. Even so he's played against 2 big teams in them games, having beaten United and Chelsea. Having earned 17 out of 27 points he would've come out with a total of 72 points, which would have been enough to get 3/4th over the last few seasons. Which is actually good considering the team is lacking in depth and quality. When talking about Europa, its more than clear that the squad is no where near good enough and we have had no clear striker in our disposal other than Kuyt (who hardly plays in that role), and as of now, Carroll. In some sense I can understand that regardless he is the manager and should be able to motivate the players to up their game, but its not always possible. Europe is something he has to clearly improve on, but he still got us through the last round, and I guess we'll have to see this Thursday.

I wouldnt worry, he'll get the job. There is no one available that would do a better job. He gets the best out of average players. Would love to see him go and build a team of his choice in the summer.

some very fickle "fans" on here Some very sentimental ones too. Far more sentimentalists than fickles. Wait until end of season, see where we are, see how good Carroll is doing as well as the rest of the squad, and then make a decision. That's the sensible option. Not sure if by the end of the season Rafa we would have gained that much insight. In regards quality in the 11 positions on the field at best we were at bare bones stuff pre-Kenny, and now injuries are mounting up especially at the back we are almost at the under 18's for selection. No surprise if we fall away from here in. In regards Carroll I got the impression it was a 'lad has great potential/rough diamond' buy and a work very much in progress kinda of thing. End of season will probably not be enough time for that. Some people still talk about Ngog in that vain and look how long he's had!
