well tbh spearing, shelvey, kelly, wilson have all been given a go in this competition and pacheco is as good as any of them maybe not not kelly but we won't know until we play him but really i want him to play because ngog and jova are awful and carroll isnt ready for a start and saurez is unavailable and kuyt can't lead the line on his own so i think he is our only option to play with kuyt... and if we can play spearing who is fcking terrible than we can give a lad with some talent a go surely

The likes of Shelvey, Spearing, Kelly and Wilson all play in different postions so are irrelvant to this dicussion.

With regards to Kuyt he didnt do a bad job up top against Chelsea. If Rafa, Hodgson and now Kenny havent seen anything in him why cant you understand that?! Is because he's young and Spainish?!!!

he probably wasnt ready under rafa and hodgson tried turning into a ride mid for some reason and also hodgson was a joke kenny is still looking at all the players i doubt he doesnt rate pacheco also people stop talking about that chelsea as if we attacked or created any real chances kuyt just works really hard and if we were playing a mid table it wouldn't have been good enough also chelsea played a rubbish formation that didn't suit them as they were trying to get torres on the pitch with both drogba and anelka a thing they havent done since we defended well and got lucky

Stop talking about Chelsea?! Why when you consider Kuyt played as a lone striker!!! Maybe Chelsea played so badly because of the tatics we adpoted.

Pacheco should have made an impression in the 1st team now considering his age but he hasnt. I'm sorry house but he's not as good as you think he is. Why the fasination with the lad? Your looking for something that just simply isnt there.

we're not going agree on pacheco but i would say again i don't think he is the next villa or torres or anyone else for that matter i just think he is better than ngog. kuyt can't play up front on his own in a game where we have our fare share of the ball against chelsea we defended well and got lucky yes he worked hard but he never gave us anything he didn't hold up the ball so raul and gerrard could get forward he didn't cause any problems for terry and co at the back he can't do it on his own i'd rather have someone like kevin doyle or darren bent up front if we are going to play with one striker

But we're arent going to play one upfront are we?! We wouldnt have signed Suarez or Carroll. The only reason we are at the moment is out of neccesity.

exactly. if you look at the chelsea game all of their chances came from outside the area. we shut them out. and as i remember kuyt did lead the line very well, he hassled defenders and was a nuisance all game. dirk kuyt is a massively experienced player and he is more than capable of playing up front on his own and hold the ball up because he can bring other players into the game.

against sparta we didn't get that with n'gog and i think we can all agree he isn't physical nor does he have the mentality to stand any physical presence playing up front on his own.

so why do we play pacheco as a striker? if pacheco was going to play against braga then he would have featured more regularly previously in the season. but he hasn't, so why throw him in the deep end? doesn't make sense. if we were to give him a game at all i would play him in maxi's position rather than up front.

think we all know pacheco has potential but at the end of the day you just have to swallow your pride and realise that this is not going to be the year he breaks into the side.

1-0 but you only have to look at the stats to see on another day chelsea would have won pretty easily, and i obviously know playing 1 up front isn't the long term idea but it shouldn't be the short term idea either not with the players we have
