and i have no problem with it yes he is a good keeper but just have to find another one all the great liverpool keepers have moved on clem and bruce and the club still continues .

There is a very real possibility that LFC will not even qualify for the Europa League next season (thank you, Purslow and Hodgson). Who will come to play at a mid table side? Would De Gea, who will almost certainly be playing the EL with Atletico next season, seriously consider coming here? What about Neuer, considering Schalke could qualify for the CL again? The truth is that Reina is right, just as Torres was - LFC will struggle to compete at any level without serious investment. Obviously though, it's questionable whether a player can be allowed to hold the owners to ransom, of course, by putting their own egos ahead of the club's "process".
For us as fans it's much easier - over time Liverpool should be able to return to the top places in the EPL. But the short term view is very much more bleak - no Reina (replace with someone not likely as good for at least 2 seasons), Carra (gone), Gerrard (losing his sharpness already, with no likely captain candidate on the horizon), other players like Cole, Kuyt and Maxi already past it. These are our top players. Certainly we have the makings of a decent side going forward (Carroll, Suarez, Meireles, Kelly, add youth Suso, Shelvey, Sterling, Amoo, Ecclestone, Pacheco (?)), but for Reina the smart move is to go to Arsenal where he knows he will make an impact on a side that will always struggle to compete without a solid stopper, never mind joining some of his fellow countrymen. I don't think that Reina is hot for silverware in the way Torres is, but I think that he wants to play in the CL and thereby prove himself at a top level club, which in turn would boost his visibility to the national side; were I him I would want to knock Cassillas off his perch, and honestly there's no way he can do that at Liverpool before 2013 (where FSG have penciled in "try to win the title this year").
