Playing him in other areas will do him well - he won't break into a side playing two strikers with depth both at "support striker" and AMC in the form of full international players. If he wants in at LFC he will either have to wait until Gerrard is too old or will have to diversify to wider roles. He clearly hasn't made enough impact to come in while Gerrard and Carroll were injured (and while Meireles and Shelvey have struggled with fitness/illness over the last few weeks), and that surely says he isn't good enough for the EPL right now.
