It worked well against chelsea because everyone was up for it today they wasn't and west ham wanted it more and needed it more and half our team wasn't fully fit which highlights the lack of depth in the squad there is no way around it we need serious investment in many areas but it is very much a squad which can be improved and I believe with 4-5 top class signings we can be very close next season we will finish 6th this season which seemed very unlikely at Christmas so it has been a good turnaround and we will only get stronger come the summer so chin up lads and remember this a transitional time for us the Kenny factor was allways going to wear off but he and clarkey can get us back in the top 4 next season and maybe a title push good times are ahead if the investment is there YNWA!!!!

Spearing won't make it. Pacheco needs to go on loan. Rest is deadwood - in fact some of the names up there are deadwood too but we won't be able to replace them just yet.

I just can't see Coentrao and Turan joining us as the other rivals for their signatures have Champions league to offer. eg chelsea, r.madrid etc

formation was horrible in practice today, but was good enough against chelsea. any formation is alright when you have 10 behind the ball we didn't exactly attack chelsea did we we won didnt we. you have to attack to win. once or twice, but this 3 CB's is awful there are no positives its just no one will admit it because it's kenny's formation earlier in the season our form was all hodgson's fault and now when we win its all kenny this and kenny that and when we're total sh!t and lose to the bottom team its the players, sorry but NO! kenny was dreadful again yesterday as he was against sparta, on the whole kenny has been brilliant but the man is capable of mistake he is far from faultless and if he persists with this 352 formation we will not finish 6th

Not unless we try and lure Turan and Coentrao. If the owners can bid for Richards for 24million, i am sure we can afford both of them. 16million for Turan and maybe <10 for Coentrao. What u guys think. I am sure that some players will play for the Love of this football club and its history and not just for Champions League. Suarez signs for us didnt he? And Kuyt sign a new deal right?

So you think we should buy Richards, Sakho, Sissoko, Adam, Turan, and Young then?  I like the sentiment, just not sure we can afford them all in one hit with the fair play rules (maybe if we can move the deadwood for good money). But in all honesty I think our larger problem will be a lack of CL to draw them here. Why would Richards leave City for us, for eg? Of all these players the only two who seem interested in LFC are Adam and Turan (who, like Young, is not a wingback, though your 3-5-2 seems to suggest he is).

I don't think we'll continue with 3-5-2, i do prefer the diamond 4-4-2:
- Carroll and Suarez as the obvious front two
- Stevie and another central midfielder to focus on rotating the ball around and putting pressure a la Xavi & Iniesta (Adam)
- Fast skills upfront a la Messi (Honda)
- A powerful fast DM (M'Vila)
- Permenant left back who's decent going forward (Coentrao)
- Big defender (Mertesacker)
