after watching the highlights from united's game at wigan at the weekend it becomes more evident how right rafa was come out and criticise the likes of fergie and united and was the only man in english football with the balls to do so.

the more these incidents happen it shows the double standards fergie has and the leniency he recieves from the FA. its a disgrace

the following are from an extract on football365.com

A Question, Sir
Sir Alex Ferguson dislikes arrogant, 'game over' gestures when an apparently decisive goal is scored. He said as much about Rafa Benitez a couple of years back, when Rafa made an innocuous waft with his hands in a Liverpool game against his old pal Sam Allardyce.

"When Liverpool scored their second goal he signalled as if the game was finished," said Sir at the tiem.

"I do not think Sam deserved that. Sam has worked so hard for the LMA [League Managers Association] and he's had a weakened team. I just thought it showed contempt.

"In my experience no Liverpool manager has ever done that. It was beyond the pale."

We can only assume, therefore, that Fergie will at some point come down like a ton of the old proverbial on Javier Hernandez, who made a remarkably similar gesture after scoring United's second against Wigan on Saturday.

Another Question, Sir
A clear elbow in a Manchester United match, but it goes unpunished, with the referee having an apparently uninterrupted view of the incident.

No, we're not talking about United v Wigan, but United v Chelsea in the 2009 Community Shield.

That time, it was Michael Ballack's flailing arm that caused the problem, specifically on Patrice Evra's bonce, prompting Sir Alex Ferguson to react thusly: "If the referee sees it properly, it's a red card. He's elbowed him clearly. The referee's in line and had a clear view so Ballack's lucky."

And Fergie's reaction to the latest clear elbow?

"I have had a chance to see it," said the Scot. "There is nothing in it.

"But, what will happen, the question has been asked and because it is Wayne Rooney the press will raise a campaign to get him hung by Tuesday or electrocuted or something like that.

"It is unbelievable. Watch the press. It will be interesting to see it."

on the first thing about hernandez, there is a big difference between what a player does after scoring and what a manager does after a goal, and the rooney elbow is boring already the FA couldn't do anything because the ref made the mistake the ref didn't think it was a sending off or even a booking and the FA will never go against one of there refs it makes them look bad

That is absolutely fuc*ing bullsh1t,Ben thatcher elbowed Pedro Mendes, the ref booked him then the FA reviewed the incident and gave Thatcher an 8 game ban,so that is totally contradicting the FIFA safety net bollox,

the FA say if the incident is in the refs report and if he deals with the incident during the game weather its the right decision or not they'll just go along with what the ref did no one was excepting anything to happen to rooney because the ref dealt with the elbow incident during the game bullsh!t it might be but its the FA's rules they are not gunna go against there own rules and make themselves look stupid

i would go along with that normally,However Martin Samuel mentioned a week or two ago that this is not the rule and the FA can review at anytime. They dont because every incident or yellow card would be reviewed on a Monday therefore causing an adminstration nightmare. The FA as we know are ridiculous and now have dug an even bigger hole for when the next incident comes up.
