Europa or Bust

Well it's clear now that not only the distant dream of 4th as gone but the also distant 5th place too so for me we should put all efforts in to winning the Europa League and try and get some silverware. We could then give more chances to the younger lads in the squad to get Premier league experience and find out which of them will be a good addition to the squad next season and off load the deadwood which cluttering the club at the min.

The flip side i suppose is to just role over in that competition too and have nothing else to play for because lets face it, after Sundays games with the mancs what else will there be to look forward too....

This is very true as I've said last few weeks on threads on this forum we have lost 5 games in the league straight after Europa League, with the majority of the other games being draws.

It's clear our squad isn't big enought to deal with injuries and the impact of playinf Europa League footy at the same time.

I say go for Europa League as priority with maintaining push to finish 6th and no highier and no less.

i think the squad is big enough. just don't think we have the strength in depth (compare our squad to tottenham's) for the large amounts of wages we pay for players. thats why so many of them have to go cos they just aren't worth it at all.

would much rather see us bring a decent youngster through the ranks. even if he plays as bad as poulsen you could still cut him some slack cos he's young. then sell him on if he doesn't improve for a decent fee of around £2m+ rather than spending £5m and paying a donkey £50k a week to collect splinters in his arse

so just forget about the league games then ?

i would like a day out in dublin see the sights so yeah im all for it final here we come

Winning the Europa Cup seems more and more to be the only way for us playing in Europe next season.

In PL let's rest some of our big guns (they are at least big guns in terms of their pay checks!), and let the youngsters have a go!

The europa cup or old eufa cup (hate it when they change names) of trophies means less and less But it is important to keep winning trophies getting in the habit of winning mentality. We seem to falter a lot when we do get into second place in the league. I woud prefer to finish 4th given a chance but equally getting to the europa cup final and losing it is as bad as going out early because it is also a distraction from the league. So I say go all out to win it now We can start afresh next season

Europa league would be a great achievement this season for us.
Would love to see us lift the cup and have some silverware once again.

no. not forget about the league. thats just stupid. what im saying is ,we would benefit more from giving the younger squad players more premier league games than half of a game in the Europa.... but just a question while you seem to have a bee in your bonnet.where do you think we can possibly finish in the league this year?

between 6th and 8th and the league should always be No1 priority .
