we should never have sold anelka. he would have been such a great option to partner torres i some games or to rest torres and play him instead.

i dont think we sold Anelka, we just didnt convert his loan into a contract. He was gutted to leave. before he joined chelsea, he said he regretted liverpool didnt make his loan permanent. He really wanted to stay.

that was bad business. diouf....what a crock. anelka was really starting to show for us at the time as well.

By the way.... funny fact - the initial deal for Alves was around £12M (in Euros) in installments, but because of the way the exchange rate went, they ended up paying over 17 million quid for him!!! hahaha. gutted.

i think it was one of those internet wind ups that people take seriously to be honest but i had to ask in case anyone had more info than i did on it ..... after all the guy did score goals for fun in holland so rafa might have seen summat in him
