Looked at the you tube film swede I have seen similar ideas. Problem for me is capacity 55k not enough. But also it seems to be an excercise in physics rather than building a stadium for the fans or a thing of beauty. Who on earth would want to be on the third tier or on one of the hollowed out spaces? And what would it look like ? it would look that what it is an enhancement of an out of date ground. What about facilities, executive boxes around the ground (not for me personally but they bring huge revenue in). And thats the name of the game the orginal post was not about stadium it was abpout our postion as a top club. Stadia / money are integral to that unfortuently thats the situation in todays football.

If you REALLY want to go to games you find the money.

You are quoting category C games, Wigan / Fulham etc. Cat A are £46 and you can bet will be £55 next year. Even so cat C parent with two kids is £80 plus travel etc. Murph you are either very rich or you don't go to Anfield to games.

I'm certainly not rich and I do go to games. Not as much as I like but I set aside money each money to make sure I can afford games.

do we own the houses on the anfield road you know opposite the ground....i was thinking about making the anfield road stand bigger by well has anyone walked down matt busby way i think it is a tunnel under the stand...so why not make the road go under the stand......so then you could have like a tunnel that the road actually goes under then build the stand and make it go back over the road........so you could build effectively over the road but keep the road.....does anyone understand what i am saying on this....does it make sense

Also you could do the same with the main stand....and not lose the space that people walk outside the main stand.

Roachy we do own them. And we could do what you say but the problems of the restrictions on Anfield remain.

is this the restrictions the council is applying or the restrictions of the transport system that we have...obviously someone must have already thought of this but just wondered.

just think on this idea...probably only raise the capacity on the anfield road by about 3500 to 5000...unless we do a 2 tier stand...and the main stand by about 5000to 6000 so effectively for the amount of work we would only have around 11000 more seats at max so around 55000 for the amount of work doesnt really make sense...i think the centenary stand is really high and steep now there isnt much more that can be done with that...and the kop...well its the kop goto stay the way it is.So a out lay of possibly around well im not sure 100 million....we wouldnt get much back in return for 11000 more seats.
