Just look at Newcastle's st James's park, massive main stand arcing round to behind the goal, we could do a similiar thing with ours. Downfall is iv worked out that at maximum we could only manage about 60'000, is that enough for us?

I would think St James is limited apart from the ground its located in the City centre. 60,000 as an absolute upper limit is not enough in my view. 60,000 to 75,000 phase one with an option to go to 90,000 at some time in the future if warranted seems right to me. That what Man Utd have now and why should we accept second best to them ?

come on be real. 60,000 is more than enough. Liverpool struggle in midweek games and european dead rubbers to fill existing stadium. The advantage of a new build will be the extra cooperate facilities which could double existing turnover with affecting normal fans. with the Average joe fan attendance will probably reach 48-55000 with potential for 60000 on big days.

not being negative but realistic. Liverpool is still a woking class city and faces many years of turbulance due to economic issues.

Most of the fans come from outside the city from what I see on match days. Yes it is difficult paying the prices and that will be the same post recession. But thats my point. Low capacity will mean high prices.

Stanley I think we sort of agree? I am from the era of queing up at 1.30 to get in for £2 as a 13yr/old. My lad is 10 and it is just not going to happen like that for him. A massive stadium build means massive cost either way, I remember a fiscal study showing the amount of steel and concrete required to go from 60k to 80k was enormous nearly double. It's one of the reasons why Cardiff mill is only 76k when original plans was for 90k. (nb concrete and steel at all time highs).

Therefore there has to be a return on investment, prices will stay high. I personanlly would love to see 75000+ paying 10-15quid a head ala Dortmund. However 60000 will probably be manageble. I suspect a re-vamped anfield will only be 55000

I hear what you are saying 1972 but it could be done with a two phase approach as the plans for Stanley Park were. If 60,000 was the limit we would stay at that but if conditions changed in the future then we had the option to build up. Anfield probably has an absolute limit of 55k as you say. Not even half good enough. As for ticket prices they will have to return to sanity as very few will pay £75 to £100 a game. I have a feeling Henry and his advisors have a spreadsheet saying just that though. Hence my concern.

Its gonna be interesting to see what the owners plans are. Im happy to stay at Anfield with a 60'000 capacity stadium but as you say prices may increase dramatically. A new stadium would be fantastic at around 70-75'000 but would we fill it and would we still be paying for it years later? Hope a decision comes shortly.

here's one idea but 55.000 is not enough if you ask me.

60k plus at a revamped anfield all sounds very good but,the staduim is slap bang in the middle of a built up area.i think the whole idea of having a new sadium in stanley park is more than just the amount of seats we can fit in.it would be great to have a large capacity at the existing stadium but i think its easier said than done.
i'm not sure if i'm correct but didnt the club hit trouble in the past when they wanted to take the capacity past 45k?

My arse its to expensive to go to games.

Its £40.00 for an adult and £20 for a child.

If you REALLY want to go to games you find the money.
