"I made up my mind to leave a long time ago because of Benitez.' 'He never treated me with respect. If I played well, I never felt he gave me any credit." "He tried to destroy my confidence." "I felt he was waiting for me to make a mistake so he could use it against me."

I always wondered what Benitez was writing in that little notebook of his, and my theory for years was that he was writing down mistakes that each player made so he could use it in the future as justification for whatever reason he wanted. Benayoun's own words support this theory very well and I'm sure this is exactly what he was doing for players like Benayoun.

He said a lot more than this and I've no reason to believe that Benayoun is lying about anything he said, I'm sure Benitez acted just like that. The comments are pretty damning and shed a little light into what Benitez was really like behind closed doors. I'm sure he was a nightmare to play for, pretty draining to play your heart out, score a goal, look over to the manager's area and see Benitez with the same miserable face that wouldn't change no matter what you did on the pitch, and to then know he would drop you the next game, and that there was nothing you could do to please him.

Thank god Benitez is a distant memory and we have the king back. It's pretty obvious all the players love playing for him. Better manager, better man-manager, and a person who knows how to treat his players.

And who brought Kenny back in the first place....

I thought that sentence was so good, I just had to highlight it again. While I don't know you personally, that there sentence tells me SO much about you.

P.S. 'Providing I'm not breaking any forum rules', I will post what I want, whenever I want & to whom ever I want, regardless of how sad your ego tells you it is.

When exactly did I tell you shouldn't have posted it? You seem pretty insecure to include a justification (PS) at the end. I just highlighted that it's pretty sad to use another posters comments from the internet to make a point you are either too lazy to make, or incapable of making yourself.

Not the 'Hodgepodge was left with a terrible squad' excuse. As the king himself has explained. There's fucck all wrong with the squad Rafa left behind, seems to be working for him !

A rather desperate and weak point to make in order to give credit to Benitez. Kenny has and will always be a legend at the club, it was inevitable he would be back at the club in some form regardless, and besides, if anything it was a joint decision.

Liverpool’s managing director Christian Purslow said: “In our very first meeting, Rafa and I agreed we wanted to try and bring Kenny back to the club to help Rafa really drive forward.

Anyway I'm done chatting about Benitez. It's ground that's been covered many times over. I'm not a big fan of him as a manager, but if he does come back, and if he could accept a position other than manager I'd like to see him back to help the youth academy. That for me was where his talent lay.

That's right mate. You've got me down to a T! Insecure, lazy & incapable. You've definately put me in my place & won the arguement. Feel better? Good. Next...

Tbf i always thought benny was a little on the, lets say delicate side, but i do think rafas man managment skills were'nt the best.
However i still fail to see why he's so disliked and unappreciated by some on here.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

No it's not the truth, hence why you can't provide anything to back it up.
