Mourinho will go back to Chelsea. Frankly I'm not convinced any other club in England actually wants him; he more a mercenary than Mascherano.

Unless the wheels fall off, I think FSG will appoint Kenny full time in the summer. Villas Boas won't come here to be assistant manager, but I wonder whether Kenny would take that role in place of Sammy Lee and allow Villas Boas to manage the squad? Maybe even get Rafa in charge of the academy. That would be one hell of a bootroom. smile

Okay, seriously though, I believe that FSG's long range plans have been disrupted by how poorly Hodgson managed the squad, and also with Torres's sudden departure, but thus far they've rolled with the punches fairly well and I hope they continue to do so. Right now Kenny not getting the job full time might lead back down the path of uncertainty, so were he replaced as manager he would have to be retained with the first team in some significant aspect (eg assistant manager) to quell any potential dissent. It's all well and good saying we want a long term appointment, but Kenny is only 59, so he could easily manage us for most of a decade; enough time for someone like Villas Boas to completely establish himself.

I don't think such a young and a talented manager would go under the wings of someone especially since he is managing as main manager in other clubs but it could be possible if he(Villa boas) wants to move on to a bigger and more recognised club such as liverpool. It could be a great idea if it works since we want kenny to continue his fine work while we brew up a manager in the process, its a win win situation.

Does no one listen to King Kenny
ONE GAME AT A TIME
Now we are lining up our next manager.
We should be thankful that the King is steadying the club and that we look as though we are on the rise again.
Lads enjoy the present and the future will look after itself.

Their is no problem with planning long term. I take everyone's points about Villa Boas not wanting to be a number 2. However he is so young, if he is ambitious it could be the route to him managing us for 10 years or so, perhaps he could be tempted.

If they could get him, it would be an ideal combo IMHO.. Much as Quieroz was responsible for bringing all of the modern techniques to Manure, he could do it for us..
